Food Waste Friday-2.6

img_1003
I almost had a no waste week this time around. Alas, my husband only ate part of his lunch one day, and he left the rest out of the fridge. It was a chicken dish, and I'm not interested in eating chicken that sat at room temperature for several hours. I have my limits, after all. This wasn't exactly my fault, but I didn't feel right about leaving it out of the picture. So, that's my waste for this week-two slices of chicken breast.

I was fully expecting to have some greens in the picture, because somehow over the last two weeks I managed to buy more romaine, iceberg, and spinach than we needed. I've been eating a lot of salads, though, and I'm happy to report that my fridge is nearly free of greens and I didn't have to throw any away!

  1. Hi Kristin! Thanks for visiting my blog. As you suggested, I linked your blog to my post about our food waste this week. I cleaned out my pantry and had a experience similar to your own - it's very unsettling to consider how long we hold on to food we are never going to eat! Like you, I hope this marks an end to unconscious buying of food.
