Two Things on a Thursday Afternoon
First, I'm giving away a $100 SpaFinder gift card on my review blog, so go read the post and leave a comment. There's even a picture of me there, which makes this an odd day indeed, given that my children are usually the only people in my photos...Mr. FG is on my 365 blog, and I'm on my review blog.
Secondly, several of you mentioned that a comment you'd left on a previous post had not shown up, and you were worried I'd deleted it. For the record, I think I've deleted maybe 5 comments total in my almost 3 years of blogging (which is a testament to how lovely my readers are!), so if you don't see your comment, the cause is probably not deletion.
The more likely scenario is that your comment got accidentally sent to the spam comment folder. My blog receives an ungodly number of spam comments, and my spam filter does an awesome job of automatically making them go away. However, it's not perfect, and sometimes a legitimate comment ends up in the spam folder.
If there weren't so stinking many spam comments, I could look through them every day to check for legitimate comments, but as things stand, that's too overwhelming a job, and it would be wiser for me to spend my computer time writing blog posts than poking through spam.
However!
If you've left a comment and you think it might have gotten filed under spam, email me, and I can do a specific spam filter search for your comment.

Within the last couple of months, a wordpress update has any "name" with less than 3 characters going to spam.
Oh dear Kristen, here in the UK two fingers raised as they are in your photo is a very rude gesture! Just thought you should know. But don't worry, I haven't taken offence.
Oh! I had no idea. I took it down now. =P
Non verbal communications are fascinating as they often convey radically different messages in different parts of the world. There's a very entertaining ad for a well known bank that illustrates this to comic effect.
Worse, in Britain the rudeness depends on whether the palm faces the gesticulator or the viewer - but which one is which? One is very rude, the other is the V-for-Victory sign. At least it'd better be so, because I've seen the statue of Churchill at the UK embassy in Washington, DC and he's flashing what I *hope* is a victorious V.
Ahhh -- I wish I'd seen the original picture -- now I'm super curious. Was it meant as a "peace" sign?
I always think of palm out as "peace" or "victory" and palm in as the number "two" (as in American Sign Language). What is the number two in UK sign language?!?!
Yeah in the UK palm-out is victory and palm-in is both the BSL (British Sign Language) sign for two and the rather more offensive sign Gareth Rae mentioned! I laughed when I saw the pic because I knew Kristen didn't mean to insult all her readers in the UK, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Hong Kong...lol!
Great post. I love all of that food. It is so good for you. Take care.
