Snow Spray

On Tuesdays and Thursdays, I post a picture and just a few words.

Normally our snow is a little bit wet by the time the sun come out post-storm, but it's so cold this go-round, the snow is still very dry and that made for some fun pictures of sledders going over the jump at the bottom of the hill....the snow just sprays all over.

(That's Zoe in front of Joshua.   She got a little snow up her coat on that one. ;))

  1. Those are awesome pictures. Everyone around here (Indiana) is so, so sick of the snow, as I am normally by this time. I'm not minding it for some reason this year. Maybe it's because I vowed this year to organize and purge every closet, drawer, and cabinet. So, every time we get "snowed in" I make myself do that. My whole house is DONE. Yay! Have a fabulous day!

  2. Great action shots! Those are so cool. (Pardon the pun...)

I only wish it were WARM enough to slide around here lately. The wind chills are 20 to 30 below zero. That takes the steam out of even my most enthusiastic teenage sliders...

  3. Such great pictures! I got one like this of my friends mother going down the hill and I cherish it, every time I look at it I think. That is the type of grandma I want to be!

    1. I went down several times too...we have some hilarious pictures of it. But oh man, I'm not sure I'm going to be able to go over jumps at the end of hills when I'm a grandma. My neck felt a little off after that, and I'm only 35!

  4. We got 12 inches of snow here (Michigan) yesterday. They kept the kids inside at recess due to the wind chills, but there was no keeping them in once they got home!

  5. It looks like they had fun. Although, I really don't like snow but I can't wait to do sledging with the girls soon!

  6. Love how your camera captured the fast-action shot. It makes me think I need a better camera! That and to capture smiles of kids who look away quickly...

    1. Yup-an SLR with a fast lens (I was shooting with my 50mm 1.4) makes all the difference. I put it on AI Servo focus mode (which focuses continually) and then sit at the bottom of the hill, waiting for just the right moment to press the button. It's a little challenging, but really rewarding when you get it just right.

And it makes my kids so happy when I catch them mid-air!
