Would you like to embarass yourself along with me?
Yesterday, I posted a list of ideas to help you cut down the amount of food that you waste, and one of them was to have other people keep you accountable. As you know, I do this by posting a picture of my waste each week. This has been tremendously helpful to me, and so I thought some of you might also want to try using public humiliation as a motivater. 😉
Here's how it will work...I'll put up a Mister Linky(which is just a little widget that allows you to easily link to your blog) in the comments section of my food waste photo post each week, and you can comment and leave a link to your own blog(you'll leave a link directly to your blog post that contains your food waste photo). I usually post my food waste photo on Friday(maybe we'll call it Food Waste Friday!), but you don't have to do yours then...for example, if you post yours on Tuesday, you can just hop on over here on Friday to link us up. I promise I will still come and gaze at your trash.
I hope at least some of you will join me!

I'm in, though mine will be a food waste list since I am currently without camera.
Yay! I'm glad you're joining me. And I hope you get blessed with a camera soon(Christmas???).
I put it on my Christmas list. He was really excited I wanted something technological...his specialty.
This is a neat idea! I don't really throw food out weekly, or else i would love to participate.
You would be horrified if I posted a photo of what we waste. Maybe someday........
Lol, are you crazy?! I enjoy seeing your waste, but don't want anybody to see mine! I need to clean up my act a bit before signing on for this one! 😉
What exactly is this Mister Linky widget? I have to say that I would not have much to post. My wife lets NOTHING go to waste. In the last 6 months, the most we have thrown out is half a stalk of celery.
Claudine, and Made Mistakes, trust me! I wouldn't be horrified. You've seen my early food waste photos, right? And before I started posting those, I used to waste way, way more than that. You shouldn't be shy.
Penny Pincher, I'll show you today when I post my food waste photo. And kudos to your wife...I haven't quite managed to get to her level yet. 😉
And Frugal Dreamer, are you saying that you don't waste food?? If so, good job on you!
Maybe you just mean you don't clean your fridge regularly. (hee-hee) I used to hardly ever clean my fridge.
I love piccies!! I'm in... we throw SO much stuff out on a weekly basis, it's a sin!! Here's hoping we improve in time...
Yay! Another participant! I'll look forward to seeing your photos, Jill. 🙂
OK- Confession time for me. It has gotten really bad. I had not cleaned out the fridge in over a month, we've been sick off and on, and I had mentally lost track of what we had in the freezer and fridge! So, this past Saturday- God intervened. The freezer broke (ice maker froze up- kept spurting water out and freezing up a huge mound of solid ice!), so we had to totally defrost. This gave us the opportunity to clean out the fridge entirely. I did not take a picture because we had the get the nastiness out to the trash ASAP- but it was a 13-gallon trash bag half full of science experiments. So gross! But, I think I may post a pic of my shiny, clean, sorted fridge that I am pretty proud of. So, I'm on board. Thanks Kristen!
Oh, how nice to have a fresh start. I always think that cleaning out the fridge is sort of like a small-scale bankruptcy...you get to start over with a clean slate!
I hope that your first week of not wasting goes well, but don't get down if you have some bad weeks. It took me a good long while to get remotely skilled at this! lol
