Warmth and toastiness will soon be mine.

I’m really a barefoot kind of girl. Under normal circumstances, shoes are pretty much my arch enemy, and I only wear them when I have to. I especially hate to wear shoes inside…it just makes me feel not relaxed somehow. This barefoot thing works just fine for me in the summertime, and it used to work fine for me in the wintertime(oh, for the days of a 70-degree house!). The current 65-degree climate in my house isn’t really bare-feet-friendly, though, so I’ve been wearing socks. This has sufficed for a while, but I’m now down to about two pairs of socks because I’ve worn holes in all the rest of them(and even those two pairs are looking pretty threadbare!).

I broke down and tried wearing shoes on Monday and while my feet did stay fairly toasty, I just didn’t feel comfortable.

Out of other options, I decided that some slippers were in order. Of course, I don’t really want to spend the money on them, but I don’t exactly want to keep buying socks only to wear them out. And I really don’t want to turn the heat up just because my feet are cold. So, I paged through the L.L. Bean catalog that arrived today, and lo and behold, they have some pretty nice fleece scuff slippers(and we all know how I love fleece!) for the very reasonable price of $20.

Then I remembered that a had a $10 L.L. Bean gift card just waiting to be used. Plus, I have an L.L. Bean credit card, which gives me free shipping on everything. So, what would have cost $26 has only set me back $11.15, which makes me happy indeed. And if my days of freezing cold feet and threadbare socks will be over when my slippers arrive, I’ll consider it a very well-spent $11.15.

I bought the cutest slippers at Kohl's for about $8. I've misplaced them somewhere today and my feet are cold without them.

I'm with you - I'm a barefoot kind of girl. Growing up in the warm climate that I did, it was just the way of life. However, now that I live in Canada....I'm a slipper girl all winter, but when spring time comes around, out come my toes again! :-)

What a great deal! You do have the knack for saving money! I had decided that I would treat myself to a few good pairs of slippers and make it fun...(since the heat is down so low!) So far I got a pair of cute monkey sock slippers from Target for $12.00. Now that I have one pair that I needed, I can take my time and look for discounts and sales whih should be good a few days before Christmas or even after Christmas.
