Sorry for dropping off the face of the earth there, guys.

We were all set to have a Thanksgiving Day here at home with our kiddos, but unfortunately, on Wednesday night, I got sick with some sort of odd digestive bug.
So, I barely slept on Wednesday night and I felt like death warmed over on Thanksgiving Day.
Which made me pretty glad we hadn't planned to get together with anyone on that day. This way, only our plans got messed up, and no one else's.
I obviously was in no shape to eat anything on Thanksgiving, so Mr. FG made French toast and sausage for the healthy people.
It wasn't the best Thanksgiving Day in the history of Thanksgivings.
Happily, on Friday I felt a lot better. So, we ate our Thanksgiving meal on Black Friday, after Joshua got home from work.
Better late than never, right?
I'm still not quite back to 100%, but I'm feeling a lot more like myself.
Happily, not one other person in my family has gotten sick! Phew. I was worried maybe we were going to go down like dominoes.

In other news, today is Cyber Monday. ย Which to me is way more fun than Black Friday, because you can just snag deals on stuff you want and there are no lines and crowds.
I'm not a deal blogger, so I don't have a big ol' list of must-have items for you. ย But I did want to remind you to use TopCashback or Ebates when you do your online shopping.
Might as well get a little extra money back on shopping you're going to be doing anyway!

Oh, one other thing: when I did some videos on social media recently, I was wearing a black cowl-neck tunic, and some of you commented that you loved it.
Well, I'm happy to say that I bought it from Amazon and it is super-duper affordable.
Plus, there's free shipping and free returns.
It's long enough to be appropriate to wear with leggings, and it's comfy without looking sloppy.
Clothing that feels like pajamas but looks put together is my very favorite. ๐
So, I give it a big thumbs up.
I ordered a small and a medium and the small ended up fitting the best (so I sent the medium back.) I normally wear a small in women's clothing (vs. juniors), so I'd say this runs pretty true to size.
By the way, if you click on the customer images on the Amazon listing, you can see the shirt on a whole bunch of real-life women of varying sizes and shapes, which I find to be super helpful when I'm shopping for clothes online.
(RSS subscribers, you'll have to click here to get the link for the tunic, as the links won't work via RSS.)
Aaaand that's all for today!
I'm off to dive back into homeschooling (just a few more weeks until Christmas break!). ย And there's a turkey carcass that is begging to be made into broth too.
I hope your post-holiday Monday treats you kindly, friends.

Thanks for the mention of TopCashBack. I've been using Ebates but had never heard of that one. Good to have options!
TopCashback is actually my favorite! They frequently have better rates than Ebates, so I always check with them first.
I have that tunic on my Christmas list! I wasn't sure of the size I should get but with your recommendation that a small fits you best, I switched to a small--I think your body type is close to mine. Thank you for the recommendation for the tunic--I had put it on my list last month as a maybe, but it seems like a good yes now.
Glad you are feeling better and that nobody else got sick in your home! I definitely prefer cyber Monday too! I spent $2 at thrift stores in Black Friday!
I was so happy to see your post! I'm glad you're feeling better and had a happy Thanksgiving dinner with family.
Our son also got sick last Monday. He's staying at home with grandma. He's feeling better, but the progress has been slow. It must be something in the air in November. I don't know what it is, but I hope you will fully recover soon! ๐
Oh no! I'm glad to hear you're feeling better! A weird sickness was going around in my family too. 'Tis the season to feel gross! We turned our turkey carcass into bone broth. Mr. Picky Pincher likes to let it cook down until it forms a disturbingly jiggly concoction.
Sorry to hear you've been sick, but yes, it was a blessing that you didn't have a big crowd coming over and were expected to cook for them! (Yikes.) The cowl neck top does look good on you! I know what you mean about real life women's pictures when you're buying clothes online. Usually there's someone with your own body type, and that's extremely useful!
Sorry you were sick as well. My entire house had a really bad cold that we're just starting to recover from.
I'm sorry you were sick, but I'm glad no one else got sick! That is a rare occurrence. Also, I'm glad you were still able to enjoy a Thanksgiving meal with your family. Hope you feel 100% soon!
Last Thanksgiving my sil and grandchildren got my whole family, niece, and nephew sick with a wonderful stomach bug. That Saturday was just being sick and trying to make it through the day. We were mostly better on Sunday but the ten hour drive to get my son back to school wasn't the best. Glad your feeling better. Cheryl
You are the second person who's said they ate Thanksgiving on Friday instead due to illness. A friend said she did the same thing. I'm sorry you were sick!
I've started using Topcashback with your link. I'm happily looking for my first payout.
We spent the holiday eating with one grown kid while the other kid hosted her in-laws at her house. The day itself went well but our kids are both part of the same big group of good friends, and they lost three of them in a horrific car crash just before the holiday. So they spent the days before and after Thanksgiving attending 3 funerals. Not the best holiday here either. We were thankful to have our family close and well but sure hurt for those who no longer have some family members gathered at their tables.
I'm sorry you were sick for Thanksgiving. I missed your annual thankful list. I hope the rest of your holidays are filled with good health!
I also missed your annual thankful list! I look forward to it each year. I appreciate it so much because the things you are grateful for help me to see how thankful we all should be for things we could so easily take for granted.
But I'm so sorry you were sick! I'm glad you're on the mend now. ๐
I had good intentions of typing it up...but I ended up lying on the couch all day instead! Maybe I'll just write one this week instead. It's not like we can only be thankful on one day. ๐
What a bummer having a stomach bug on the biggest eating holiday of the year. Although French toast actually sounds much more appealing than turkey. Maybe it should be a new tradition. ๐
I am sorry you were sick too! I was hoping you had just taken a break from blogging to spend the holiday with your family! I am vegetarian so French toast ( smothered in peanut butter) would make me super happy on thanksgiving!
I'm sorry you were sick. Are you still going to do your thankful list? That's one of my favorites! ๐
Oy...sorry to hear about you being sick...I managed to muscle through and managed Thanksgiving dinner for us and eight other peeps. On Friday though I went down HARD with a head cold and have been chugging Night and Dayquil ever since.
WOOF...
I think stress has a lot to do with when people get sick (not a crazy observation...I work as a CNA in a rehab facility/hospital...see it time and time again)
I hope you and everyone else that got (and is getting clobbered) by getting sick feels 100% soon.
Oh...and a plate full of French toast sounds like something I would be thankful for right about now ๐
Happy Tuesday everyone!
