Food Waste Friday | Plus 2 other things

First off, the randomly chosen winner of the gift bag is commenter #12, Molly F.C. Congrats, Molly! And thanks to you all for your delightful response to my giveaway. We'll have to do something like that again soon.
Secondly, thank you all so much for your input on my guest posting question. Your thoughts have been very helpful to me...you guys rock!
Now, on to food waste.
Well, sort of, because I have nothing to report. Yay! I did have a weird avocado earlier this week (it was sort of yellow inside and had some darker streaks in it) that was no good for guacamole. So I blended it up and froze it to combine with banana puree next time I make Banana Chocolate Chip Muffins.
I've got a number of leftovers in my fridge right now, though, and some produce that needs to be used up ASAP, but I'll try to get it taken care of so that I can have a repeat performance of this no-waste week!

Today's 365 post: I'm loving these gift tags

Didn't have a great week this week - but I don't think I need to go grocery shop at all this week, so hopefully no food waste next Friday!
I have to say, I love your Food Waste Fridays. I live alone, and I usually have waste to get rid of the day before garbage day. Now I'm checking my fridge much more often, and yesterday I used up the last of the limp celery so that I wouldn't have to throw it away.
I really needed this wake up call!
The odd combination of apple and stale bread (on my blog post about FWF) I have thrown in the slow cooker is smelling slightly odd - my daughter won't go in the kitchen. I have just added some custard to see if that improves things. Can't say I'm not trying to use up everything! It may bE a case this week of No Waste Tastes (not!) So Great! Jo (simplybeingmum-family life simply done)
I never know what to do when my avocado looks funny inside! When is it not ok to use? How do I know if it is not ok to use for guacamole, but is ok for muffins? P.S.- I love that you can use it for muffins! I had never thought of that!
No waste here! Doing the happy dance around the kitchen! Sill a lot of food in the fridge but it seems manageable. Went way over the food budget last week, but we don't need a lot this week so I think it will average out. Don't think I could ever go a whole two weeks without shoppng since we run out of milk and produce, but it seems like a big trip followed by a smaller fill-in trip fits our lifestyle well.
I did not waste a thing this week either. I am so thankful. I am the type of person who is a major recycler. If I can find a use for it, it will not be wasted. I hope someone will do a post on how to recycle just about everything.
I'm getting better and better about NOT wasting food. in part because I made a new year's resolution some years back, but I can say for sure that your weekly "nagging" (more like sweet, gentle weekly reminders) has REALLY helped. Thanks, FG!!
With final projects in school due and a crazy work schedule, I wasted a lot. 1/3 of a large casserole that wasn't so great after the 3rd time eating it, a bunch of another leftover dinner that also wasn't so great reheated. Sad 2 weeks.
Oh well, I will do better next time.
Not a good week at all. We wasted a pork chop,2apples,a cheesy spanish casserole and spaghetti with meatsauce. I am hoping for a better week this week.
