This isn’t all that brilliant…

On Tuesdays and Thursdays I post a picture and just a few words.

…but it’s been great for keeping my cabinets free of honey stickiness.

how to neatly store honey

You know how honey jars just always end up being a little bit sticky?

And how said jars always make your cabinet bottom vaguely sticky, especially if you turn them upside down to get the last little bit out?

I’ve discovered that putting the honey jar in a cream cheese container takes care of that handily. Of course, you could use something more beautiful, like a glass bowl, but I like to keep my glass bowls available for regular food storage, and the cream cheese container is narrow (so it doesn’t take up lots of space) and it’s also tall enough to keep the jar upright when I turn it upside down.

Yes, it is brilliant. And, I too hope to organize my spaces as you have done in the bathroom. What I realize is that I need to start small just like you did--one cabinet at a time. Thanks

Ugh, I *HATE* the eternal stickiness of the honey jar. Great idea!

any way to get rid of those black diamond-shaped boxes with the question marks in them? they're really distracting and don't seem to add anything to the formatting.

--sorry to leave a comment that is all nag! I love reading your blog!

I'm sorry about those...we've been having formatting issues since we moved servers, and the team keeps fixing them, but then they keep popping up again. They just appeared all over the place again last night, and I put in a request for help. Hang in there...it'll be fixed eventually, promise!

Speaking of honey, when Walgreen has a coupon in their sale flyer, it is cheaper per ounce than Aldi. The perfect scenario is when you are there to pick up a prescription anyway. Love reading your blog!

Thanks for a great tip! Going to use it for cough syrup that is forever a sticky mess in my cabinets. :)
