Why I Love Turbo Tax (and why I think you will too!)

This post is brought to you by TurboTax. While this post was sponsored by TurboTax, I've been a happy paying customer of TurboTax for almost 20 years.   So, all content, opinions, and enthusiasm expressed here are legitimately my own. I heart TurboTax so much!

Turbo Tax Self Employed

Except for one year in my adult life, I've been going the DIY route with tax-filing.

The only reason I've been able to manage this streak of self-filing? The magic that is TurboTax.

Physical tax forms can be confusing, and if I had to file my taxes by filling those out, I would have little confidence that I was doing it right.

Tax language is hard to understand and then you have to add and subtract things from various lines, and take exceptions for certain things.   Ugh.

Luckily, I came of filing age around the time that Turbo Tax debuted.

Why is TurboTax so awesome?

Turbo Tax wants to empower you to file your own taxes.

So, they walk you through your taxes step-by-step asking simple questions and giving you the deductions and credits you’re eligible for based on your answers.  All the terminology used throughout the product is in plain, friendly, everyday language, and if you have a question about something, there are always helpful links nearby.

Plus, you can connect live via one-way video to TurboTax Experts, credentialed CPAs, or enrolled agents to get you tax questions answered – at no extra charge

If you are scared of the forms, hate details, or taxes have always felt overwhelming...well, all of those things are true of me too.

However with TurboTax, I've managed to successfully file my own returns for years, even though I'm self-employed (which may add to your tax situation a bit.)

With TurboTax in hand, you really, seriously do not have to be a rocket scientist or a math whiz to handle your taxes.

What if my return isn't super duper simple?

TurboTax is definitely quick and easy if you have a simple return to file, like Joshua's this year.

(This is my first time helping one of my kids file, so I am totally going to be consulting TurboTax for advice about what I'm supposed to do!)

If you've got normal stuff like charitable giving and mortgage interest to deduct, you'll be happy to know that's all included in the walk-through.   Easy peasy.

But even if your situation is a little bit less cut and dry, TurboTax can help you.

For instance, I use TurboTax Self-Employed (currently 10% off for my readers!), which offers the forms I need to report my self-employment income.   Turbo Tax also has a version specifically tailored for filers who have investment and rental properly.

TurboTax Review

If you're not sure which TurboTax version is for you, visit TurboTax's site, click a few buttons to explain your tax situation, and they'll recommend the product that's perfect for you.

In addition to special versions of TurboTax, remember that you've always got TurboTax experts there to help make this a not-scary, not-confusing process.   Yay!

Won't I get a smaller refund when I use TurboTax?

Nope! TurboTax software is super thorough when it comes to checking for deductions.   Your interview will help you explore all the possible deductions available to you, even obscure ones you've never heard of.

Plus, at the end of the return, TurboTax runs Complete Check, just to make sure there's nothing you missed.

It always asks me if I want to consider deducting a home office, for instance (I can't, because there's no space in my home that I use exclusively for my business.)

I'm nervous about buying TurboTax.   What if I don't like it?

While TurboTax is available for purchase on a CD, it's better to start your return online at TurboTax.com for free.   Give it a test drive, and if you decide you want to use TurboTax, you just pay when you file.

If you decide it's not for you, you won't be out any money. So, it's a super low-risk proposition.

If you file a 1040EZ or 1040A you may even be eligible to file your federal and state taxes for free with TurboTax Absolute Zero.

Anything else I need to know?

Well...if you need to file state taxes, TurboTax can do that for you too. Your federal tax information   automatically transfers right on over to your state return, which makes state tax filing really easy.

You can quickly e-file your state and federal returns right from TurboTax's site so that you don't have to print and mail forms.

Also, if you're getting a refund, you can opt to pay your TurboTax fees out of your refund so that you spend no money out of pocket.

If you're still on the fence about DIY-ing your tax filing, do give TurboTax a shot. I think you'll be pleasantly surprised at how simple and user-friendly it is.

Totally not scary, people. You can do this!

    1. I absolutely love turbo tax,I have been using turbo tax for about 6yrs or so.
Sometimes I use the free edition or sometimes I do the paid version, turbo tax is very easy to use think of it as (turbo tax for dummies),not only is it easy to use its fast, and efficient, ever since I started using turbo tax I have been a loyal customer. Thank you turbo tax for allowing customers like me to do my taxes without all the extra headaches.

  1. My favorite thing is that Turbo Tax and my husband do the taxes. I did mine when I was single and still do all the day-to-day bookkeeping in our home, but I'm truly grateful he does them for us!

  2. I love using TurboTax for our personal and business taxes. I have been using it for years. It is easy to use and if you ever have a question they have great customer service.

  3. This is the first year I can claim mortgage interest plus my daughter's college tuition, so I definitely need some help!!!! 🙂

  4. We always use TurboTax because it saves a lot of our info from year to year which makes the process much easier!

  5. I did them on paper forms the first year or two I needed to file but, as I was filling as a dependent, there was not much for me to do.
I used Turbo Tax online and then the online H&R had cheaper filing fees (I'm not overly concern about re-entering basic data each year) the last couple years. I haven't compared them this year yet.

  6. We use TurboTax every year! We (and by we, I mean my husband) love how simple and easy it is to just enter in all our numbers and it calculates everything. Their customer support is awesome too, which was super helpful when we were filling out taxes with a newborn and were sleep deprived 😉

    1. I've switched to H&R Block last year after Turbo Tax couldn't handle earning income in two different states, let's say, State A and State B, as well as moving expenses part way through the year from State A to State B. H&R block handled it seamlessly so I'll stick with them until there is a good reason for me to do otherwise.

  7. I've used Turbo Tax before, and loved it! However, I've been scared to use it the last few years because I have some self employment income and we also live in (but do not work in) a city that has a RITA system...a Regional Income Tax Agency. The sheet is SO confusing so I've been going to a tax pro and shelling out $250.

Kristen, do you know if Turbo Tax is capable of performing RITA taxes? I attempted H&R Block online and they didn't.

    Thanks!!!!

    1. Yes, TurboTax does support RITA. For tax year 2016, RITA calculations have been rewritten to require less input from customers even if you have more involved tax scenarios (e.g., moving, changing jobs, within and outside of RITA) and the final release will be on 2/17/2017. Because of the changes this year, you are encouraged (in interview) not to fill out the RITA form until after it is released as final on 2/17.

  8. I'd love to give Turbo Tax a try. We've used a family friend for awhile, but I'd like to go back to doing them myself, so it is done sooner. I've been hesitant because the complexity of our family's income and deductions has increased over the years. But you are very convincing! 🙂

  9. I've never used turbotax but I need to. I have a rental property I'm almost positive I'm entering incorrectly.

  10. My favorite thing about Turbo Tax is that my sweet husband uses it to do our taxes every year. It's so simple and straightforward that he gets them done quickly and easily with NO stress. And that makes me a happy wife! 🙂

  11. Always preferred DIY but the free filing places couldn't answer certain questions so sadly switched to a CPA a few years ago. It sounds like Turbotax would work but I'm wondering if it would really be cost effective for me. You didn't mention price.

  12. I love that Turbo Tax imports data from previous year's taxes and can connect online to obtain my W-2 information.

  13. I am an accountant by profession, although I work in a manufacturing environment not a public practice. When I was in college, we would do tax returns by hand, and then check our work entering the same information in Turbo Tax. I've been using it ever since, 15+ years. I love that it is so simple.

  14. I like that my husband will use the Turbo Tax and get all the help he needs. He gets so frustrated every year doing the taxex. This year we get to write off the mortgage interest. That is just one more thing he would normally get frustrated with trying to figure out.

  15. We love turbo tax! One of the best features is that it keeps our information from year to year, so we are saved the hassle of looking up SS numbers and tax id numbers every year. When I found out a few years ago that I could just download turbo tax from their website instead of buying the disk-I was thrilled 🙂

  16. We use TurboTax - or rather my husband does. My job is to find the the best discount possible. Free would be my best deal yet! I will cross my fingers.

  17. I love that Turbo Tax can import our W-2 information so I don't have to type it in. I never have to worry about making a typo!

  18. I used turbo tax for many years until H &R Block software beat them on price and I switched. I have been reviewing which to use this year.

  19. The first time I had to file taxes, I definitely cried. But I do think TurboTax made things so much simpler. I'm nervous about filing this year since my income increased and we purchased a house. Hopefully we won't owe the gub'ment any money; I really do like getting money back!

I like that TurboTax walks me through the process and I can do one thing at a time. I really don't feel like I miss anything with it, so it's been great for us for the last 4 years.

  20. We've been using TT since we were first married in 1997. I love that we can import last year's info to make this year's form completion go faster. We've had a great experience with them for 20 years!

  21. We've never used TurboTax but would love to try it! We've been using another software but I've heard that TurboTax is much more user friendly which I could definitely use...

  22. I've never used Turbo Tax but I'd love to try it. The last few years were super easy but I started a small business in 2016 so I know there are some new forms I'll have to use - I could use the help.

  23. I love how uncomplicated Turbo tax is. It is so much easier to just answer questions than it is to read and decipher pages of tax information.

  24. My husband and I LOOOOVE TurboTax because of its user-friendly and simplistic approach to the (possibly) scary situation of DIY taxes. We've been using it for years as well with much success. Thank you, TurboTax!

  25. I've used turbo tax before when I was single and I've used it after I had gotten married. This year will be my first year filing after buying a house so I'm a bit nervous but I'm sure Turbo tax will be great!

  26. Have used Turbo Tax for years (tried others but they are the best)! Had a lawyer do our last years due to several different tax issues, plan to switch back this year, wasn't impressed with the lawyer.

  27. I haven't used Turbo Tax before, but my taxes have gotten more complicated recently when I got married and we bought a house. I'd love to win a free copy to try it out!

  28. My favorite thing about Turbo Tax (besides the fact that my husband does all the tax stuff) is how excited my husband gets about getting it, doing the taxes, and filing them. He takes such pride in it, and he geeks out a little bit over the whole process...it's kind of cute. 🙂

  29. I have been using turbo taxes for years and love it. It's so simple and straightforward. I also like that it imports info from previous years!

  30. When I did my own taxes, they were so easy with Turbo Tax I couldn't imagine doing them any other way. And with my husband's complicated "self-employed to employed to self-employed again and every combination in between" history, he thinks it's easier to do them himself with the Turbo Tax Self-Employment version than get everything to an accountant and explain it all to someone else.

    1. Yes, this exactly. Gathering all the info and having to explain it to someone else is just as much work as just punching the stuff into TurboTax myself!

  31. I adore TurboTax! I've used it ever since my mom told me it was time for me to learn how to do my own taxes, and I've never looked back. 🙂

  32. I have used Turbo Tax with great success for several years, but that was when we filed standard deductions. I'm curious to see if it works as well with the itemized form, since we've had an exorbitant amount of medical bills this past year.

  33. My favorite thing about TurboTax is that it adds up my kids' college expenses and then makes sure I get the right education tax credits.

  34. I've used TurboTax for several years and absolutely love it! Even the year my husband and I got married and moved across the country, TurboTax made the process so simple!

  35. We have used turbotax every year for our 10 years of marriage, and it is so much easier than trying to do it on our own. With a combination of grad school expenses, self-employment, state income taxes, and interstate moves, I don't know how we would have stayed legal without it!

  36. We used to pay over $400 to have our taxes done. we still had to collect all the info and drive it 25 minutes away. When they were done we had to go back 25 minutes to pick them up. All together it took about The same amount of time that it takes me to do them myself for a fraction of the cost.

  37. I tried a different software last year that was cheaper; it was not as easy as Turbo Tax so I ended up buying TT after all. Lesson learned, and will keep using TT!

  38. I love TurboTax b/c it guides me so effortlessly and I don't feel at all like I am doing it all wrong (which is totally how I would feel if I was working with a bunch of paper forms)!

  39. I love Turbo Tax! I use it every year. It is so simple. My family used to pay someone to do our taxes for us, but this is so much cheaper and easy. I love that I can pay for Turbo Tax using my refund too.

  40. This is my 3rd year using Turbo Tax. I was extremely resistant to trying it as a long time self employed person but my husband, who had used it for years before we met, finally convinced me that I could do it. I was so surprised at how easy they made it! I'll never pay an accountant again!

  41. Much like yourself....I have used TurboTax for many years. If I had to do my taxes the old fashioned way (paper filing)--it would take me forever to just get caught up on the tax changes and to fill out all the forms! But, TurboTax makes it easy peasy!

  42. I'm nervous about so much information online and if I don't enter things fast enough does it all just go away and I have to do it all over again. Would like to try it.

    1. Nope, TurboTax saves your information for you as you go. So you can do part of your return one day, save it, and then come back to it later. No need to do it all in one sitting.

  43. I started using TurboTax about four-five years ago, instead doing taxes myself on paper (I got married in the Bronze Age, so paper forms were all there was) then going to CPA's, one of whom royally messed up our taxes, but in the government's favor, so we didn't go to jail, just paid way too much money! Ouch! I finally had enough of paying "professionals" or struggling through complicated returns myself, and decided to try TurboTax online. So easy! Now it's how I do our taxes every year. My husband has always refused to do any financial/bookwork, so I've been the one to decide how they will get done.

  44. I enjoyed doing taxes by hand back when our income was simple. People think that taxes are this mystifying thing, but if you just read the instructions it tells you step by step what to do. It is something exciting about the rubber meeting the road with tax policy when you do your own taxes. People yelling on TV that taxes are too high? How much did YOU actually pay in taxes? Side story: my dad likes to gripe about how the government takes all his money. I did my parents taxes with TurboTax, and showed them in black and white how little they are actually paying.

But then life got too busy and I didn't have the hours it took to sit down and read all the instructions. I like that TurboTax remembers everything I did last year, so I can just plug in the relevant pieces.

We do have an accountant do our business taxes. It involves employees and assets and other things that make things a little more complicated than I trust TurboTax to do.

  45. I have used Turbo Tax in the past and really liked it. However, we moved and sold and bought houses in the past 3 years, so we used a tax preparer who charged us $400. only to find out that she filed our taxes with Turbo Tax! So since it's good enough for her, I will be filing my own taxes this year and I'd love to win this.

    Thanks Kristen!

  46. Kristen, I've enjoyed reading your blog since 2008! I have learned so much here over the years, I am a homeschooling mama to 3 children, my oldest is graduating high school this year. The thought of filing our taxes has always scared me but after reading your post today I'm ready to try! I would love a free copy of TurboTax!

  47. I've used Turbo Tax for about 7 years. It's been a good experience, but I did have an issue one year with a 1099 form.

  48. I used turbo tax last year (online version, which I had to pay for upfront, so I'm not sure how accurate your comment above was that you can "test drive" it.) to help a friend who had previously been paying huge money to a local tax place.

She has two tricky deductions: Child care and earned income (Before I tried turbo tax, I tried to do her forms by myself Aiyee. And I have been doing my self-employed taxes by myself for years.)

Based on how smoothly the process went, I want to do my federal and state taxes with Turbo Tax this year. So I hope I'm a lucky winner.

FYI: I highly recommend it. It really steps you through the process and is very thorough (turns out my friend needed to file self-employed for part of year and it allowed us to do it as well).

    1. You can definitely go all the way thru your return with TurboTax online...you just pay when you file. It's always been that way for me, actually. I wonder what happened with your return last year. It's really weird that you had to pay upfront!

  49. I've used Turbo Tax almost every year since having to file my taxes. I love that I can work on it at my own pace in the comfort of my home!

  50. I love having the history of every tax return you've filed with them. But I have to say my favorite is the clear language that it explains things in each section. I most likely am not going to need the Railroad Engineer who moonlights as a Lettuce Farmer deduction, but it's there and they will explain it so it even makes sense to me!

  51. I'd love to win a free copy of Turbo Tax. I helped my daughter use the free version one year but have not used it myself.

  52. I've been using Turbo Tax for years and I find it really easy as well. I always input my info into multiple on-line tax filing places and Turbo Tax always gives me the biggest refund.

  53. I love Turbo tax! I have been using it for several years and I love that it's user friendly and I can Efile! I would NEVER want to do paper.

  54. My favorite thing is I know the calculations are all correct and I 'm not double guessing if I did something incorrect by accident. The peace of mind, that's the best thing.

  55. I used turbotax for many years, but switched to Tax Act a few years ago- I believe (at least in my case) TaxAct is significantly less money, but still works like turbotax in that it prompts you and takes you through each section and it remembers last years information. I can't recall exactly, but I think TurboTax was costing me $70-80 for state a n local taxes and that Tax Act is more like $30...Either way- love these programs!

  56. We use turbo tax and I like the question section so it can figure out if I need any odd forms. We've used it for over a decade and really like it.

  57. I dread doing the taxes but I've always done them by hand so as not to pay out anymore money to get back my money! I thought about getting them done by a pro to see if they can get me back more than I get back on my own. This might be the perfect middle ground!

  58. I love Turbo Tax because it gives me the confidence to file taxes by myself when my husband is deployed at the beginning of the year. It takes most of the headache out of tax season.

  59. I've been doing mine longhand with no problems. But the more life changes I have, the more I'd love to try out Turbo Tax as our filing keeps getting more and more complicated!

  60. I really like how you can access past returns online. I also really like how you can see your refund amount as you are working through it.

  61. I've been using Turbotax for 8 or 9 years and I love how easy it is. It transfers my previous year's information so I don't have to retype anything.

  62. I love TT and have used it ever since I started filing for myself 15+ years ago! my favorite thing is that it has so easily adapted to the changes that have come over time -- from filing singly with one job to filing jointly with my husband (who is freelance and does not have easy taxes!) and adjusting to my FT job plus the side business I own, it has always been super easy and never lets me down. I use it every year and love it!

  63. I'm trying to convince my husband to try turbo tax this year! You've got me sold, I just wish he read your blog

  64. I love TurboTax! Feel like I'm not breaking the bank but still keeping myself safe from messing up my taxes. It makes me feel like a little bit better of an adult. 🙂

  65. I LOVE TURBOTAX! My two favorite things about it: 1) Since I use it online, it automatically enters my previous year tax info (the random lines you need to enter from last year's 1040, and employer tax ID, stuff like that), and 2) I just feel so empowered and knowledgeable about how our finances fit together. All the heart eye emojis!

    1. In the first photo? No, no, no. That's a stock photo from the set that TurboTax gave me to use with the post. There wasn't a stock photo that looked much like me, so I just went ahead and picked one. 😉

  66. One awesome thing about Turbo Tax is that it will import tax information from your investment accounts for you. For example, if you've sold stocks it will automatically fill in all the information you need to file. That feature alone has saved us a lot of time!

  67. I love that TurboTax "remembers" my information from year to year and asks me questions like "do you still work at...?" so that if a W2 is missing from my pile, I know to look for it.

  68. Last year I was super nervous about filing with turbo tax because my husband and I sold both of our individual properties we had before marriage, rented out one of the properties for half of the year, we bought a house in another state and we had a kid, plus all of our other normal deductions. It totally took me longer but in the end it was not as horrible as I had imagined. Looking forward to the simple filing with turbo tax this year.

  69. Used to use Turbo Tax but now I volunteer to do taxes for people.

Kristen, don't forget that you have (potentially) American Opportunity Credit or tuition credit or Lifetime Learning Credit for your son on your return. Remember that AOC is only good for 4 years so sometimes it isn't worth burning a year if he just started in the fall (and there are more conditions to satisfy for AOC). Turbo Tax should walk you through it, but it may not optimize your return.

Your son's taxes should be simple after you answer that he is claimed as a dependent on your return.

  70. I have used Turbo Tax for many years. So easy, more important, SO Convenient, and saves time by uploading prior year, and Year over Year comparisons. The Free version will not work for me, but the time saving does!

  71. This is my first year to file on my own. I'm a little nervous about the process, but would love a free copy of TurboTax!

  72. I'd like to win the turbo tax. I'd love to know how they compare to h&r block's software, which I've used the past few years.

  73. Been filing with Turbotax for a few years now. Am yet to get a review notice from the IRS. Its easy to use with lots of explanations.

  74. My husband usually does our taxes but since he's not been very healthy lately (he's had cancer for 4 1/2 years) I think I am going to need to take this job over. Having a free copy would be wonderful!

  75. I have used turbo tax in the past and like how it is simple to use, even with the different changes we seem to have every year.

  76. Importing info from your financial institutions makes the process incredibly easy. Worth every penny of the purchase price for the program!

  77. I love how quickly we finish our taxes when using TurboTax. Every year I dread sitting down to do our taxes and then I am always surprised when we finally sit down to do them that we finish them in one night 🙂

  78. We have used a competitor in past years but have been thinking of switching. This would be a great impetus!

  79. I used TaxCuts for many years and preferred it to TurboTax. Then they started screwing up - the instructions were complicated, and they missed entire sections that pertained to me. I have been using TurboTax for three years now and love it! Of course I would love it more if it were free. 🙂

    Linda

  80. I've been using TurboTax for many years now. 98% of the time no problem. But just the other day when I filled out a quarter of the questions and then I downloaded an update from TurboTax the next thing I knew I lost everything that I had done. Sorry just a warning be sure and check everything.

  81. I love that it saves info from year to year, and that I can work on it little by little (I have 2 toddlers). I would love a free year!

  82. We use Turbo Tax each year and now our kids do too. I like how it just walks you through, question by question. I would love to win. Thanks!

  83. I've always just read the instructions and filled out the paper/pdf forms. Some years are more confusing than others, but then you know how to do that part. Or at least, I think I do, it doesn't *seem* like we've been making mistakes 🙂

Everyone raves about TurboTax and I've been curious to try it, but having done them myself for 20 years, I'm afraid I'd be double-checking against the actual tax forms anyway...doing it all twice because I'd feel like it didn't "count" if I didn't really know what was going on the forms, or what the line said, or how the instructions were actually worded. Plus, I've not wanted to pay for it 🙂

I'd actually like to try it though. If I could learn to trust it, I'm sure it'd save me a lot of time.

  84. I have never bought turbo tax but would love to see how it differs from the free version. I've gone that route for years!

  85. We use Turbo Tax every year, This year we sold and bought a house so we are a bet nervous. I'm sure TT will get us through it!

  86. I love that it comes up with state specific stuff- like in my state you can enter car registrations for a partial deduction.

  87. I've used Turbo Tax before and I did love how it walks you through every step making it very easy to use! I'd love to win!

  88. We love using Turbo Tax because it finds all the deductions for our kids activities and I can also use it for my Mom who is retired and has a very simple return to file.

  89. We have never used Turbo Tax but after reading this I think I need to check in with my husband to see if he wants to give it a try. Thanks FG!

  90. I worked as a CPA prior to having kids so taxes aren't really a scary thing to me. But ever since quitting my job (and thus not being able to use their software for free to do my own taxes) I've become a big fan of turbo tax. It seriously makes it so easy.

  91. I love that its formatted like an interview... Basic versions of the necessary questions to gather all the information needed.

  92. I used to love doing taxes on Turbo Tax, it always found me a lot of awesome tax breaks, it even found me an educational one one year when I was taking school that added a nice amount onto my return. When I bought a house and had two kids I was swamped between this, day job, kids, author wife and my home business to try to complete my own taxes on turbo tax. I am hoping to get back to doing my own taxes again soon (I love mathematics, so I love every chance I get, probably why I like programming) I love using the Turbo caster every year as soon as I get my W-2 ( sometimes even before) it at least gives me an idea of what it is looking like for the year.

  93. I've never used turbo tax before, but we've messed up our taxes in the past and I'd love some help doing them this time so we don't make mistakes!

  94. My favorite thing about TurboTax is watching my refund increase as I enter in information (which can also be my least favorite thing if I am not getting a refund!!). 🙂 I would love to win a copy -- thank you!!

  95. Importing data from the previous year can help cut down on so much time! We have had good experiences over the last few years.

  96. I love that it's so easy! 🙂 I especially love that it imports last year's info so there's already much of it completed when I sit down to dig in!!

  97. I love turbotax! Primarily because I can do it in my pajamas and if I get interrupted (toddler naps are unpredictable) it saves right where I left off!

  98. I've been using TurboTax ever since I started filing on my own. I've navigated a small business, resulting bankruptcy, self employed income, and other tax challenges all through their software. I love the affordability and that it imports my info from last year!

  99. Hi Kristen! Do you know if personal information is safe with TT? I'd always been concerned about entering so much of our personal information online, which is the only reason I haven't tried TT yet. I file the old school paper way, but it's time consuming and my taxes will be more complicated this year so I really want to try this. This blog post you wrote has me just about ready to give it a go this year.

    1. TurboTax uses state of the art security to keep your personal information safe. Of course, nothing is 100% risk-free (even mailing things isn't risk-free, as people sometimes steal physical mail), but TurboTax is a reputable, trustworthy company and I feel comfortable using their service.

      1. Thanks, Kristen! And you're right about the mail!! We received 2 birthday envelopes in the mail that were ripped open last year!! Thank goodness there were no gift cards or money mailed in them... just cards.

  100. I love TurboTax because of the simple language it uses- tax forms can be so confusing! I also like that it goes step by step, which would be so helpful for us- In 2016 we moved to a new state, got married, started new jobs, purchased a car... I know a computer tax program would be invaluable!

  101. We have been using TT for years. I love it because you can do your taxes for less in the comfort of your own home. TT is wonderful!

  102. I love that it prompts you for all of the itemized deductions - some that are applicable and some that aren't. At least you get a chance to claim deductions that you may not be aware of.

  103. If you're using TurboTax, you're still paying too much.
I've been filing with the free software provided by IRS.gov for years, and it's great! My return doesn't cover the cost of TurboTax, so it's good sense that way, too.
