My Groceries

When we got to the beach today, we checked in and then went and loaded up the van with groceries.

I spent $165 today, which is a whopping $65 over my budget. I think next week's trip will be much closer to budget, though, because a lot of the things I bought today will last us through our whole vacation. And besides, it's vacation. I'm not stressing over $65. ๐Ÿ˜‰

  1. I hope you have a great time! And don't fret about extra money when on vacation. But...I cringed when I saw allll those plastic bags.

  2. Hi, I'm glad to see that I'm not the only one that cringed when I saw all those plastic bags. Please invest in some reusable bags. I am surprise you that you haven't found some free already. Please email me, I can make sure you get some reusable bags.

    Enjoy your vacation!!

  3. Dana, Super Walmart is all right. I have one at home, but I'm just not the world's biggest fan of it. I can get much better prices at Aldi, and Aldi is much smaller and more accessible. I also like Aldi's business model and employee practices better.

But once a year I can stand to shop at Walmart...there's no Aldi here. lol

I put up a small post about reusable bags to allay the fears of all you who were worried. Marissa, I did get a LOT of my reusable bags for free or almost free. ๐Ÿ˜‰

  4. I just learned about your blog from the 700 Club this morning and I have literally been reading it all. day. long! I have read almost every post dated back to the one I am commenting on and I have a question... Why don't you shop at Wal-mart? Aren't their prices supposed to be low??

    1. I just answered your question today! Go check it out. ๐Ÿ™‚

And I'm glad you've been enjoying my WHOLE blog. lol

  5. Earlier today a friend of mine informed me about your blog. I have enjoyed reading many of the posts. I think it is wonderful that you can feed your family of six on $100. a week budget, there are so many people think that this is impossible to do. It's not, it just takes some planning. I have been an avid shopper at Aldi for many years and have saved so much money on my grocery bills. As you do, I also shop at thrift stores with my two daughters. We love going to them and have purchased many great deals. We also buy alot of things at the dollar store. Being frugal doesn't mean that you cannot eat good, dress fashionably or have nice things, you just have to spend your dollor wisely. Kristen, hats off to you. Keep on blogging!!!!!
