Five Unrelated Things

Hello, frugal people! I’ve been under the weather this week with a throat infection, which is why there was no post yesterday.

I’m on the mend now, mercifully…enough to throw together a post of randomness for you, pulled mostly from things that have hit my email inbox lately.

1. Joshua’s back in America.

He had a great trip, and I’m so glad he got to have this experience. Also: I’m glad he’s home safely.

And now he’ll get to give his Zinus mattress a try. I heard from a bunch of you that it’s a great mattress, so I’m optimistic.

2. I skipped my Hungry Harvest this week.

I was getting backlogged on veggies, so I needed an extra week to catch up.

Ordering a box of rescued food is no good if I can’t manage to use it!

3. Get a free guacamole e-cookbook!

Just subscribe to the Avolution newsletter (for avocado lovers!) and get a free 52 page guacamole e-cookbook.

I tested it out, and it’s an instant download with 15 guacamole recipes.

I always make just plain guacamole, but some of these sound very tasty. Elotes guacamole, pina colada guacamole, jerk guacamole…there a lot I would eat!

4. Get $10 off Hearth and Hand at Target.com.

That’s Chip and Joanna Gaines’ brand of home decor, and new TopCashback customers can get $10 off their purchase!

This is a deal TopCashback put together JUST for Frugal Girl readers, so make sure you use the links in this post to access the offer.

Click on the link and follow the instructions before April 30th to get your $10.

Note: Transactions must contain at least $10.00 worth of purchases to ensure the $10.00 cash back is credited to TopCashback accounts. Transactions may initially track lower, but within the 14 days after purchase it will be uplifted and turn payable at the amount of $10.00. Transactions may take up to 7 days to appear in your TopCashback account. The deal is open until 11:59pm PST on 4/30/2019 or until supplies run out; whichever happens first; applicable for purchases made directly after clicking through TopCashback. Only one TopCashback account is permitted per member.

5. Get Birkenstocks for $39.99.

According to Lisey (resident fashion maven at our house), Birkenstocks are now considered to be very fashionable.

(Who could have predicted this???)

They’re also quite expensive, but if you use code TFG3999 at Proozy.com, you can get a pair of $75 Birkenstock Madrid Birko-Flor slides for only $39.99.

Colors and sizes are often pretty limited with these Proozy.com deals, but perhaps you can luck out!

(expires 4/28 or when supplies run out)

_____________

Alrighty…that clears out my inbox a bit. See you back here tomorrow for a menu post!

Everything old is new again. In 1991 as a freshman in high school, I had a foot problem and my doctor suggested birkenstocks (because of the hard sole). I was so excited to get to wear Birks! I look back now and think they're just so damn ugly. I wore them with and without socks. Ugh.

Thanks for the Birkenstocks code! I've been wanting a new pair of sandals for this summer that support my feet. I don't care how they look (funny that birks are considered fashionable - both my parents are teachers and would buy their pairs off eBay). I'm pregnant with baby four and need all the arch support I can get this summer!

Hmm. I just clicked on the photo and on the link, and both worked for me. What's happening when you try to click on them?

Haha! I had a pair of Earth shoes back in the day. And a pair of Famolares, which had a "wavy" bottom sole....I hope those NEVER come "back in style"....lol!
