It's time for the annual cookie guessing game!

cookie decorating

Every year, the kids and Mr. FG and I decorate cut-out Christmas cookies together.

This started out as a fairly normal tradition, but somewhere along the way, we started putting eyes on our cookies.

(I think Joshua may have started it with his grumpy cookie from years ago.)

And ever since then, our Christmas cookie container has been full of characters.

The worried bell on the right here makes me laugh.   And the tie?   Love it.

(That's an abominable snowman on the bottom, by the way.)

Anyway, a few years ago, we started a fun guessing game here on the blog, where I post six cookies, one made by each of us, and you guys have to guess who made each cookie.

The first person to get it right wins a $50 Amazon electronic gift code from me!

Would you like to meet this year's subjects?

First up, we have a fish-lipped Christmas tree named Bertha, complete with a white beehive hairdo.

Next up is a nameless angry candy cane.

Then a kind of worried Christmas tree.

This snowman is wearing a tank top (which is considered to be rather un-stylish on men by the inhabitants of my house) and track pants, with stripes down the side.

Up next, a cute snowflake.

And lastly, we have a mad scientist Christmas tree, with spectacles and a goatee made out of a small Christmas tree candy.

And the six cookie artists are Mr. FG, me, Joshua (16), Lisey (14), Sonia (11), and Zoe (9).

(There's a picture of all of us on my about page, if you need to take a peek at our faces before you guess.   😉 )

Here are the numbered cookies:

So, leave a comment with the cookie numbers in order, with your cookie artist guess following the number.

(We gotta keep them in numerical order so I don't lose my mind trying to keep track of who got it right first!)

Ready?   Set?   Go!

P.S.  Here's the Christmas cookie recipe I use.

Let's see how a totally random guess works out, since I can't stop and analyze or I'll be late : )

These are so cute! I'm going to show my kids for inspiration when we do ours. Do you buy the eyes, or do you put black dots on candy?

    1. You got it!! Woohoo! I'll email you in a sec.

I do buy the eyes. Not all grocery stores have them, but I've had good luck finding them at craft stores in the cake decorating area. And the great thing is that you can use a 40% off coupon on them at a craft store.

  8. I'm certain by now the correct combination has been suggested, but as I don't have time to read all the comments, my guess is:
    1. Zoe
    2. Mr. FG
    3. Kristen
    4. Sonia
    5. Lisey
    6. Joshua

    Love all the "personality"! 😉

I really enjoy this every year. You'd think these monsterish creations would be more of a Halloween tradition, so it just tickles me that they're your family's Christmas Cookies. 😀
