That is, if you happen to be shopping at Goodwill.

It’s such a pity, isn’t it? The way that frugal people can never have nice things. A crying shame, really.

(large thanks to my son for once again exercising his photography skills so that I could come out from behind the camera!)

Score! That dress is really cute. Shopping at thrift stores has actually been very liberating for me. I no longer have to check prices at all, and I don’t think twice about hacking something up to make it fit! super cute! I always feel confident in an outfit that I know I got a good deal on. When I spend more ( which I did quite a bit of before children) I worry about spills and rips etc. Can’t wait til I’m done breast feeding my youngest ( and last) so I can shop for dresses again.

Good for you!

But then Hon, you also have a sweet young figure, to be able to fit into this great dress. Lucky you!!! :-)

Gentle hugs,

I am right there with you. My wardrobe has significantly improved from shopping at Goodwill, Salvation Army and a local thrift store here in town called Vintage Values, where 100% of the proceeds goes to the local Domestic Violence Shelter. I love it. Every trip to one of these stores is a treasure hunt.

Okay, I am so going to need a list of good thrift stores/goodwill in the area! We should be in MD in less than 2 weeks! Awesome dress!

Kim, I went without pretty much any dresses for a LONG time! I was always pregnant or breastfeeding for about 8 years almost solid, and it wasn’t worth it to buy a dress. Now that I’m done having babies, it’s lovely to be able to buy dresses!

M.A.-totally agree! My wardrobe has improved greatly with very little monetary output.

Maria-glad you de-lurked!

Kalee-email me when you get here, and I’ll tell you where I shop. :)

Very cute! I just hit a great consignment sale last Saturday and bought most of what was on my list of needs for the kids for this year. Yay! (I’m very proud of myself for sticking to my list. I just adore cute little baby things, but I resisted most of them, w/ the exception of a pair of frivolous velvet shoes @ $1.75.) One pair of sandals, two winter coats, and 4t jeans to go and I should be done shopping for a while. Well, I might need a couple of larger maternity items in the next few months. My slightly older than last time body is spreading differently this time. Bummer!
