Thankful Thursday | one class again
This week, I am thankful:
that my class overlap is done!
I am so very happy that I'm back down to just one class again.

And I'm glad that the eight-page paper and group project are behind me.
that there are no group projects in my current class
The level of relief I feel is indescribable. I vastly prefer to do all my schoolwork on my own. I end up doing most of the group work anyway, and at least when I'm working on my own, I don't have to do all the effort of trying to organize everyone and keep things moving forward.
I just move forward on my own, and that is way easier.
A pox on group projects, I say!
for my countdown latte
I told you earlier this week about my plan to mark each work week's end with a latte, so yesterday, which was shift 3/3, I got a latte.
Yum!
Five more to go.
that summer is about halfway over
As you know, I am not the biggest fan of summer, largely because I think the weather is diabolical.
Some people get weather-related depression in January, but me? I feel blue when I look at the July forecast.

Summer generally offers a consolation prize in the form of a school break, but I don't even have that this year. So, this season is really giving me nothing.
That's why I'm thrilled we're halfway through July! It's only about a month and a half until September, and there should be some weather improvements then.
that I can write
I keep being grateful, grateful, grateful that writing is not hard for me. BSN classes are almost nothing but writing, and I imagine this program is ten times as miserable for people who aren't well-practiced at writing.
that I read fast
In addition to writing, BSN classes also require a fair amount of reading (especially journal articles as we research topics), so I am super grateful that I'm a quick reader.
Research would take much longer otherwise!
for citation generators
I use mybib.com's free tools to help me format my APA citations for my reference pages, and I do not feel one particle bad about it. My brain is crammed with a billion things right now, and I do not need to waste time formatting references.

Of course, I do always check the end product because reference tools can make mistakes! Heck, even the "cite this book" tool inside my textbook formats the title incorrectly.
(Using a citation tool is not prohibited at my school, just so you know. 😉 I'm not breaking any rules.)
for the wonderful feeling of sitting down after a shift
When I get into my car, and the weight finally comes off my feet, it feels SO GOOD.

This feeling is only topped by the sensation of getting into bed after a shift. Then my feet feel really good.

So glad your class load is improving Kristen!
Thankfuls for this week:
That last week's car problem did not turn out to be so major. We thought it was a transmission issue, but instead it was related to a fail of a part that had been replaced recently. Thankfully that part was under warranty, and was replaced for free.
The part that failed was a front brake caliper. Thankfully I did not have an accident because of that.
This week, a rear brake started making noise so we took it back to the dealer. It must have been a stone or something because by the time I got it to the dealer, the noise was gone and upon inspection, they could find nothing wrong. Even better, the dealer did not charge me for the time it took to look at the car.
For an unexpected visit from a friend yesterday. We hadn't seen each other in a few weeks, and it was great fun to catch up!
For a great camping trip last weekend - fun, friends, and a hike out to a waterfall on a hot day.
Counting down, week by week!
This week's thankfuls:
-for better sleep
-for progress in a room renovation
-for making strides in the renovation of room 2
For weekend around the corner
Ooo, lattes and individual work, not group projects. Cheering with you!
Thankful this week (actual birthday edition... accidentally made it sound like my bday last mo. so thanks for all your warm wishes!):
- That my simple, frugal get together with friends and family was actually pretty simple and frugal.
- For the opportunity for various loved ones to meet each other.
- For my husband willingly hauling all the coolers and stuff and supporting the whole thing in general (group gatherings are never his idea of fun).
- For an interesting stranger who overheard that it was my bday and bought my coffee from my favorite place, an Exxon station that has a counter selling amazing, locally roasted, deliciously brewed coffee!
- For powerfully uplifting cards, thoughtful unexpected gifts, and so much love in my life.
