Thankful Thursday | getting there
This week, I am thankful:
that my countdown is done! (almost)
I have one more shift tomorrow, and then I will officially be living the part-time life. Yay!

And my class officially finishes on Sunday, but I am done with my work, so that class is over for me.
that the rest of August is mid-80s or below
You know how people get seasonal depression in the winter? I sometimes feel like I get a summer version; I find multiple months of heat and humidity to be rather depressing! I think I would be perpetually blue if I lived in, say, South Florida.
When it's so humid, I don't even feel like going out for my beloved trail walks because the air is just miserable.
(Conversely, I basically never think it's too cold to walk in the winter!)

Anyway, the forecast for the rest of August does hold a lot of humidity, but at least the temps are getting a little bit cooler.
Also cheerful for me: September is only about a week and a half away. Yay!
that I was able to give my friend's stuff away
After my friend died of cancer, I helped her kids empty her storage unit, and I brought a van full of stuff home to give away.

I have been too busy this past month to deal with any of the stuff, but I finally did manage it this week! And happily, I was able to find takers on my Buy Nothing group.
I am happy that her things are finding their way to new owners; I know that's what she'd want. 🙂
for this picture from my friend
My nurse bestie Brittany is on vacation this week, and she sent me this picture she took of a tiny crab. Is he not the cutest little crab you have ever seen???

for my lawn-mowing guy
I'm still not over the thrill of coming home to a mowed yard. Amazing! Magical! Wonderful! I did not have to go outside and sweat!
(I wouldn't mind doing lawn-mowing in the winter, but that is not how lawns work. Ha.)
for a one-day humidity reprieve
Yesterday, the air was not so wet, and I took advantage of that by taking in a sunset.

At the park, I read my graphic novel, recommended by a reader. It's a super quick read, and since it's just drawings, I think even most non-medical people would find it enjoyable, not gross. 🙂

You have done it Kristen! Week zero has arrived.
My thankfuls:
--for rain and that it rained mostly at night, and that the Belgian moors fires just across the border are finally under control;
--for the craftmanship of the people who are working in our house at the moment;
--for savings, to get necessary maintenance done;
--for kindness and courtesy, that I encounter every day at work and in traffic (For this list I am willfully ignoring the opposite);
--for a dedicated group of fellow trash pickers that try to keep our surroundings clean from cigarette butts, cans, plastic and paper bags (and more). The microplastics in one cigarette filter can pollute 1,000 litres of water;
--for being generally fit and energetic and able to do many chores around the house (for those we cannot do ourselves - see "craftmanship";
--for affordable clean tap water and other utilities;
--for my morning oats and coffee;
--for the prospect of more rain ahead. The rain containers are full again but rivers, lakes and nature generally need to refill and recover from the heat. It may sound contradictory, but living below sea level we rely on enough water to keep our protective dykes soaked and spongy so they can keep away the "water wolf". In case of extreme drought the dykes will become brittle. Keeping them in good shape will always take priority over the need of water for farmers and industries, and at the worst even tap water. This summer, in some regions, farmers and nurseries were forbidden from using water from rivers and lakes, while industries had to scale down. Worrisome.
(And as I type this, we have a steady drizzle. Thankful!)
That's interesting, about the dykes - thanks for giving my brain some new facts today. Would never have guessed it needs to stay spongy!
As a fellow trash picker, I am grateful for you, too!!
I'm glad your friend's family has you as a very competent and thoughtful redistributor of things, and I'm sorry for your loss.
Thankful:
- Speaking of the season, that apparently they're "trying" to fix the HVAC at work, and that my classroom has had a steady temp the last couple days and wasn't freezing, hot, nor humid.
- That we are in the home stretch toward the weekend.
- For all the healthy habits and layers I HAVE already been doing, even though I have farther to go.
- For various creative, talented, funny, and kind students that contribute to my job being rewarding and fun.
- That we were only without internet for one day after a surge fried the equipment.
Your efforts for your deceased friend honor you both.
That is indeed a darling crab!
Thankful-wise, I'm relieved that yesterday's intense thunderstorm was brief with only small hail. (Gotta love those ominous green hail clouds!) I did have to go prop up my amaranth, as the soil was too soggy to hold their weight, but I'm only out one bush bean plant that the wind broke off at the soil line. Most of the beans were thankfully ready to harvest, and the plant carcass went into the compost.
That crab is so cute! It looks like it’s about to speak!
Thankful for:
*Today is the last day of 90’s in a string of several days. Whew! This has felt like a Florida summer several times, and having lived through many of those, I am glad that cooler air and less humidity are on our horizon.
*The younger grands are enjoying their first week back to school, and college granddaughter #1 made it back to school safely.
*We met up with our friends and travel partners for a big trip coming up in a few weeks and have all the minor details worked out. (All the big stuff is already in place.)
*Our trips to the gym are beginning to show some rewards. My leg muscles are definitely getting stronger!
*One huge volunteer commitment I had is coming to an end, which will allow me to pursue another volunteer opportunity that I might enjoy more.
Re: your part-time life, Kristen: Huzzahs for being almost there!
Re: your friend's stuff: What a good way to remember her.
And re: the crab: DH and I used to see those little cuties (or crabs very like them) back in the ancient times, when we took several vacations on St. John, USVI.
Today, I'm thankful for JASNA BFF's upcoming visit (she arrives this afternoon) and for our upcoming Triple Birthday Celebration with JASNA Panera. I may not check in here again till next Wednesday, so just assume we're out painting the town.
Enjoy your friend's visit and the celebration A.Marie - a hearty happy birthday to all 3 of you! Look forward to reading about your fun shenanigans next week 🙂
It's my birthday next week too! I hope you have a great time! 😀
Happy Birthday Sophie!
Thank you!
Happy Birthday wishes to Sophie and A.Marie. Look forward to hearing the fun from you both!
Happy Birthday Sophie and A. Marie!! Hope you both have lovely days full of things you love.
Happy Birthday Season to you, A.Marie! Celebrating in triplicate is thrice rewarding.
You should move to Colorado. One thing we do not have to deal with is humidity.
I'm thankful for slightly cooler weather, too. Finally.
For fresh produce from my garden. August is peak season for me.
For a body that is relatively healthy and still allows me to do the things I want to do.
For friends. I keep reading about the epidemic of loneliness, especially among older people, and we are so fortunate to have a larger community of good friends than ever.
Colorado is actually a state I would consider!
I love thankful Thursday! Thank you for hosting it!
Today I'm thankful for:
New washers and dryers installed in our basement laundry room, and a folding table, too. Bliss!
That lunch today will be leftovers, so I don't have to cook. Good leftovers, too. Chili and cornbread.
That my refrigerator seems to be ice-free and functioning better after I defrosted it on Tuesday. And that I was able to move it myself in order to reach the outlet behind it.
For the sun shining in my dirty windows, but knowing that the window washers are coming next week.
For cooler temperatures -- but, like Kristen, I lament the relentless humidity and look forward to the end of summer.
For having a good book to read -- today it's "Whistler, " by Ann Patchett.
I loved Whistler!! Glad you are enjoying it.
Thankful for:
-- The final X-ray of my knee that showed the fracture is completely fused back together after four months. Pretty amazing! I still need PT but I'm well on my way.
-- My increasingly challenging P.T. exercises that are getting my knee and leg to work again.
I think PT is a very interesting field and I am often amazed at the results that can be gained by the right excercise!
Huzzahs for your knee and the PT!
Thankful:
- Our weather this week has not been quite as hot as forecasted. I do not love a week of high 90s, mid-90s is hot enough.
- My husband and I were available to help our daughter while our SIL is out of town on business travel. We had to move out the last of the furniture and things in the closets so my cousin's flooring company can start installing the new carpet today.
- The process of spraying the water mark on a popcorn ceiling with a bleach mixture did a fantastic job of removing the stain.
- The sky was absolutely gorgeous Monday evening after a major thunderstorm. It looked like the most beautiful sunset all across the sky.
- We are finally close to finalizing our vacation plans. We are eager to take some time off before grandbaby #2 arrives.
Bleach, straight up, also works well on unpainted Kal-Kote plaster.
Yay for part-time life! DH officially retires in September but wanted to work part time, so he just landed a part time adjunct position at the same community college where DS#2 and I attend. He's excited to have the challenge of teaching without the huge time commitment.
I am:
Thankful for DS#3's improving labs! His hemoglobin was 9.2 this week! This sounds awfully low (normal for a young man is 13-15) but this is the highest it's been without a blood transfusion, and it's even an improvement over last week's which is 8.5. His hematologist was pleased and said she doesn't need to see him until November.
Also thankful we're at the tail end of all the post-hospital follow-up appointments. There were a lot of them, between the GI, the nephrologist, the surgeon, endocrinology and the infectious disease doctor...and mostly they were just saying "do these labs" so...ugh.
Thankful as well for a beautifully healing incision. DS#3 was gifted with a nearly 12-inch long incision along his elbow to clean out the infected bone and tissue, but a month later it's so well healed he's almost not needing a dressing anymore. And he's got so much more energy now that he's over the infection and off the IV antibiotics; he's back to his old self and it's wonderful to see.
Thankful for cooler-than-usual August weather for us. We've been able to have windows open more, and though it's been incredibly rainy (we're under a flood warning right now) I am grateful that we've had a not-as-hot summer as we've had other years. Still, like Kristen, I am very much looking forward to cooler weather and less humidity!
Thankful for the Commodore, who makes sure I never sleep in too late. (Although 4 am was a little TOO early today, I am thankful he didn't take it too personally when I unceremoniously shoved him off the bed after he insisted on nibbling at my hair for the umpteenth time.) I will appreciate my fluffy alarm clock when I start clinicals, I'm sure. Also, for those concerned that he would not accept kibble as his treats, rest assured he is very grateful for any foods offered outside his usual mealtimes! The vet reported he was 13.5 pounds, but did not call him chubby. I think they were distracted by his growling and hissing because he knew that shots were coming up!
Yay for your son's progress and having a "vacation" from hematologist visits!
I second those emotions!
It is so good to hear your son is getting back to his old self!
Yay for making it to part-time!
The title of that book makes me laugh because 'do one' in Britain means telling someone to eff off!
Love the crab!
Thankfuls:
1. I motivated myself to go to the gym after a summer off. As always, I rarely feel like going to the gym - especially in hot weather - but I'm always thankful to have gone. Similarly, I'm thankful that I did the park run at the weekend and motivated myself to run another day this week. I always feel good after running!
2. I think I'm in a minority, but I love summer, and have been enjoying the warm evenings and going for swims at the beach. I am thankful that it's slightly cooler though!
3. I'm thankful for funny colleagues.
4. My friend asked me to look after her cat again, which is a favour for both of us 😉 The cat is a little aloof but sits next to me, which apparently is a high honour.
5. This is kind of sad, but Hayden Panettiere died recently, and she appeared to have a hard life. We were the same age and it feels very unfair and shocking that she died so young. I'm thankful that my parents were never stage parents, or pushy in general. I hope Hayden is at peace somewhere.
Kristen: Hooray for more free time ahead!
I’m grateful for:
1. Starting a new habit of naming things I’m thankful for every day.
2. My loving husband
3. My loving adult son
4. That I still have my eyesight, despite problems.
5. The fun activity of planning a long road trip.
What a lovely way to honor your friend.
1) Grateful that DS19 sounds excited about his first day of school today.
2) A coworker brought in a ton of garden tomatoes & encouraged everyone to take a bunch. They are delicious! I had one with my breakfast burrito (for dinner) last night, with diced tomatoes inside. So good. It's making me think again about getting a greenhouse. We can grow a lot, but nothing ends up making it to us, because of the squirrels.
3) Grateful that I don't regularly have to drive into the office. The commute takes a lot out of me.
4) Happy that DH is getting some time with is cousin. I hang out with friends often, but he's more particular than I am & has a very small circle. It's nice when I see him making time for friends.
5) My sister has a lot on her plate, but recently got two kittens. They are adorable & bring her much happiness, to offset some of the other things that are happening.
You get 80 degree weather? Lucky you! We've had 17 days straight of triple digits highs and the forecast is for another 100+ degrees all this week. I am hibernating inside!
But I am thankful for:
1. Air conditioning!
2. My friend at work who stayed an hour over her scheduled quitting time so that I would not be checking out customers by myself. Few shoppers came in during the hot afternoon but we got a crowd once it started cooling off a bit.
3, Snuggles comes to wherever I am and quietly lies down so he can be near me. He is such a sweet dog.
4. That I saw the fire ant mound in the backyard before I stepped on it. Fire ants will swarm all over you by the dozens and once they start stinging you, you'll know how they got their name. You'll have dozens of blisters from their bites.Luckily, I didn't get bitten by a single one last night.
5. I have not had any car trouble in a long, long time.
5.
3.
I have no plans to move to your neck of the woods. Hehe.
Thankful for:
1. All the new blogs to learn about thanks to yesterday’s post and comments
2. Not much work now so I have lots of time to help people in my life (EVERYONE needs help—yikes!)
3. my 6’-6” friend who helped get spiderwebs off the super high windows in our A-frame sanctuary (We used duct tape to keep the telescoping webster from collapsing and more duct tape to attach another one to the end of it AND he had to stand on a chair, fully stretched to reach them all)
4. AIR CONDITIONING
5. the fun of helping my sister knit over many phone calls and photos
6. most totally excellent neighbors, all looking out for one another
AGREED ABOUT THE AIR CONDITIONING. hehe.
You haven't lived until you've given birth to a baby at the end of August and late July with *no* A/C. Both summers were hot and the two in-between 1 & 2were even hotter.
I didn't have A/C until I was 37 years old. I could live without it, I don't mind sweating but it is hard on frig/freezer and electronics. Which IMHO offsets the cost of running it.
If that's not the crab version of cute puppy eyes, I don't know what is! Never thought a crab could be adorable but there it is!
This week I'm thankful for
-- much cooler nights; the low 60s and upper 50s are much more comfortable for sleeping than the mid-70s we had a lot this summer.
--a free treadmill DH got locally. We've been saying for about 5 years that we want to get a new one after our other one died but it apparently wasn't a priority of his. The irony in this newfound urgency for a treadmill is that DH recently failed his DOT physical (so he can drive heavy duty pickup trucks and EV trucks in his engineering job) and has to get his blood pressure down 12 points in three months before his current certification expires. Of course the Dr suggested walking daily as a way to make that happen. And voila! DH finds and brings home a treadmill.
--The cooler mornings mean I can get two horses worked before lunchtime without feeling like I'm about to keel over. The humidity is still up there (this is the time of year we commonly have fog overnight) but at least the temperature is lower.
So happy that your part time status is finally here. It's just doubly nice that it comes at the end of Summer of Slog '26!
I sent the pic of the stinkin cute crab to my crafty daughter to sculpt...I hinted that it might make a cute ornament.
Two of four families staying on our ranch received the all clear to go home and check out their homes and properties.
My plum chutney turned out so well that my caterer friend ordered a case of pints. Happy.
Sold a piece of my Grandfather's girlfriends jewelry. I inherited her entire estate 10 yrs ago, I thought the jewelry was costume, asked my jeweler friend to clean up the pieces and consign. They were real semi precious stones!
When my mother died in 2019, we had to fly out to the west coast (Canada) to take care of arrangements. I brought home a bunch of silver jewellery. I took said items to my jeweller and asked them to look at the pieces (Necklaces, bracelets, earrings); turns out the silver was indeed "White gold"! Who knew that my mother had a penchant for white gold. A lovely surprise for me indeed.
She might have been allergic to "yellow" gold - I am, it makes me break out in a rash.
Ohhh, if she makes an ornament, please do send a picture!
So happy you're living your best life. You've been through a tremendous amount in the last several years. So you definitely have earned it.
FYI.. It's not just South Florida. It is the whole dang state that suffers with the heat and humidity. It's so miserable when the rain comes down because it turns into steam just after the rain stops. It's like breathing liquid air. According to the Farmer's Almanac, the Southeast, including Florida, will have a warm and wet Fall season. Sadly, we're not expecting it to cool down until November.
I am truly thankful that, so far, we have not had a hurricane come this way.
Congratulations! I’m just so excited for you! ♥️🎉
I love the photo of the crab!
This is more of a random thoughts response today, my mind is over-active!
Very thankful for quite a lot of rain. Hoping that it is helping with the wildfires up north. HB's garden is definitely loving all this rain. Everything is growing so beautifully, the flowers are just gorgeous, the vegetables doing very well. Our temperatures haven't been too bad, ranging from a low of 20C to a high of about 28C currently, though we did have a couple of heat waves hitting the 36C mark, feeling like 45C. I generally hibernated on those days.
I Finally received my Canadian pension. Long story. I left it really late in applying, I applied in Feb, my 65th birthday was early April. To complicate matters, I am not Canadian born and had to provide proof of Canadian citizenship. Since I did not know some information, I had to fill out an extra form to allow Service Canada to contact Immigration Canada to get my missing information. I also had to get my documents authenticated by either a doctor, a pharmacist, a lawyer, an accountant etc. saying that the photocopy was a direct match of the original documents. I enlisted my very kind young neighbour as she is an accountant and she did the authentication of my documents. (4 pages x twice). I checked my bank account this week and there was a payment of $3,192.00, I'm guessing this is back payment to my 65th in April. So I'm thankful that all my paperwork was in order. It was a SLOG filling out all the paperwork. Now I'm waiting for actual documentation to let me know what my actual monthly amount is.
This is a sort of maybe to be thankful, but I'm hoping for an improvement in my health. I had food poisoning on the 7th and 8th of the month, and am still suffering the after effects (I won't detail as it's very TMI). I feel that I am very dehydrated, and am trying to drink lots of water hoping that it helps. I know there's also a connection between mental health and physical health, and my mental health took a dreadful turn for the worse Jan 2025 ("reasons") and I have still not fully recovered. But trying very hard to not dwell and to "put one foot in front of the other" and keep moving ahead. Also HB is at the beginning of dementia, and I'm just exhausted keeping tabs on everything.
Hoping to get back into exercising, I know it's very good for my mental health. To @Sophie in Denmark, I'm using you as my inspiration, I find it so motivating when you talk about your exercise, swimming and running; it puts me in a positive frame of mind and the "Just Do It" attitude. Baby steps to begin with. (I used to be an avid exercises until I hurt my back in 2022).
My brother came in from the west coast with his 9 yr old son for a visit. It was lovely to see them, we had a couple of lovely visits. My brother is an excellent cook, so he came over one day and made us lunch, he BBQ's home-made kebobs. And we used a garden cucumber and tomatoes to make a salad with feta cheese on top.
Thank you for listening to my random thoughts.
Good for you! You’re smart to not let yourself become overwhelmed and burned out!
Thankful that the first week of school is going good for my kiddos.
Update on my youngest. He is now getting into the van to go to Cross Country practice😁 Thank you to everyone that left me helpful advice and kind words. Very much appreciated!
This week I am thankful for…
• Sleep, again! Our dog’s medications seem to be helping and he’s getting sleep at night instead of wandering the house.
• My son made the JV team during tryouts this week. He’s been training on his own since his club season ended with the goal of making JV and his hard work paid off.
• We have bunch of wild turkeys in our backyard (including babies) and that makes me happy because they eat ticks!
• I tried out a new hobby this weekend and it was very enjoyable.
I saw a possum in our backyard for the first time since we've lived here (the Commodore also saw it and was beside himself, never having seen such a creature), and while they give me the shivers and I don't understand why people want them as pets, I reminded myself that they eat ticks so to be thankful for the possums.
I am thankful that I was able to have dinner with friends this week. Yay!
I am thankful I don’t have to work the closing shift next school year.
I am grateful for air conditioning. The heat is here to stay in so cal.
I am thankful for my bed. It is my favorite and comfy. I do not take that for granted!
I am grateful that I really enjoy my co workers. Not every day is perfect, we are all human. We all care and do our best with the kiddos. I work at a preschool 😉
I am grateful that next week we don’t have kiddos at school. We still have to work but we will be switching over classrooms and cleaning up.
Yay Kristen!! Enjoy that Starbucks drink!! So happy for you.
Thankful for air conditioning. Thankful that my mom and I could go in together and get a baby gift (one cute thing and one huge box of 720 wipes from Costco) for a server at a restaurant that we frequent. I don't have a lot of extra money, so it really helps to pitch in together on something like this. Thankful for my friends. Thankful for the book club I attended for the first time last week-some really lovely people.
Did I say I am thankful for air conditioning?? My town in Texas is the same latitude as Miami, so that says it all. I told my mom today I wasn't going out again until October-I was sort of kidding. 😉
Mine are mostly work related-
This week I am thankful my 4 twelve hour night shifts in 5 days are over. I typically manage to get one of the nights off, and this stretch I didn't request one so I worked all 4. After a meeting this morning and a 3 hr nap I am good to go!
Thankful I am off until Monday night!
Thankful I had the same 2 baby assignment for all 4 nights and that made for a pretty darn easy stretch!
I am thankful my early retirement is inching closer (no set date yet, but in the spring). A conversation with a toxic co-worker, and then another with 2 I trust just reinforces my decision.
I am thankful my grands are settling in to their new schools in a new state. My middle grandson hasn't attended public school in person in 6 years - first Covid, then significant health problems, then, online school was just easier with siblings schedules and soccer. He is a sophomore this year, and after taking up golf just 18 months ago, made one of the 6 open spots on the golf team, and has qualified to be one of the 6 players (of the team of 12) to play in both tournaments so far, and both times he came in 1 stroke for tying for 4th place. He is fitting in well, and feels very welcome in his new school.
Thankful my oldest grandaughter is settling into her new career as a Speech Language Pathologist in Las Vegas and that she is less than 2 hours from where her family moved.
Thankful my dahlias are finally coming on. It's been a struggle year for them for many of us, so yay!
Thankful for family, good health, and upcoming vacations.
Congrats on "getting there" and now having some semblance of a work/life balance (even more when you finish that degree). Your hard work has paid off!
I'm thankful to live in a fairly temperate climate. It rarely goes below the 50's during the day during the winter and only occasionally dips below freezing at night.
During the summer it's mixed. We have hot days for a few days in a row (getting hotter with climate change--we've had up to 115 F but lately mostly around 100F and then 80's and 90's where it almost always cools off at night. This is a great blessing because we do not have AC, and we can open the windows at night and let our "natural air conditioning" cool us off. The past few weeks it's been 70's and low 70's every day--so wonderful. But our heat waves stretch out into October and the fire danger remains high until we get a lot of rain.
Another weather thankful: We used to live on the Big Island of Hawaii where it was hardest hit by Lala and there's another big rain storm coming expected to drop a lot of rainfall. I'm thankful we are not there for that, and sending prayers for the people affected. During the time we lived there, Hilo recorded more annual rainfall than any other city in the world ever in recorded history. Generally even steady rainfall is not a big deal on that island because the ground is mostly lava not a lot of topsoil (when people put in a septic tank, they have to blast the hole in the ground with dynamite!), but this much rain--and wind--at once is devastating.
I am now part of a small support/chat group for the issue my relative is dealing with.
I am, sincerely and honestly, thankful that my relative's issues isn't as bad as others' and that my family isn't dealing with some of the issues that the others in the group are.

That little crab is adorable!
I am thankful for:
• Hot water in the shower. My new place needs it to run for a solid 4 or 5 minutes before it's not cold and most days I brave it to not waste water, but after walking errands in the cold/rain, I really like a hot shower to warm up!
• L shaped couches. They're perfect for reading.
• Flowers! The city I am has a ton of flowers everywhere and they're all so pretty. It makes me smile.
• Soda water! I used to hate it, but someone made me a lime soda (carbonated water, lime juice, some sugar water) and it was a delicious treat. Instant convert.
• Mom and Pop shops. I had an accident months ago and the charger on my phone got wet. It would charge, but my wired headphones and separate microphone wouldn't work. I found a little repair shop that replaced it within 30 minutes for a great price.
Its my dream to eventually drop my Monday shift and work weekends only...
Thankful this week for:
*my trusty fence repair guy
*5 full days off this week which was amazing
*my book club which has such smart lady readers in it
*a strong body for getting things done around my house this week
*a 3 hr nap yesterday!!
I am thankful that I spotted my daughter’s lost earring in a dusty corner (not precious metal, but a favourite). Also that my helpful neighbour, who is an upholsterer, sewed some new Velcro on my walking sandals (which I wear most days), giving them a new lease of life. Thanks to my friend for thinking to bring her old SPF50 baby sun tent to the beach for me to sit in (her baby is now 17!). And finally, it’s been a long time since I had a puncture on my bike, so long may that continue.
In our neck of the woods, school starts this Monday! THREE MORE DAYS. And I'm feeling all sorts of emotional about it. I'm thankful:
-For a faith-based school. They started last night's open house with a prayer from Father Tom, and it just made me feel this year is already off to a wonderful start.
-For a new classroom with some new friends! Our school is small. Everyone knows everyone. But we have three new faces in our class alone. And I'm so grateful they get to be with my son this year!
-For a previous kinder teacher who my son wanted to say hi and hug this year. Who also told him, "You know if you ever need anything, you can come to my classroom anytime, right?" Ugh. Queue the tears.
-For starting first grade. Because I know I'll blink and he'll be a senior, like, tomorrow...
I totally understand you saying you get seasonal depression in the summer because I have always told people that I get that. I can’t stand humidity it makes me not want to do or go anywhere. I’m looking so forward to the colder weather
