WIS, WWA: but first...

Yesterday, Chiquita was standing on my keyboard cover (as per usual) and Zoe suggested taking a picture from underneath.

So, here you go: some fuzzy feet. Hehe.

What I Spent

I spent:

  • $29 at Aldi
  • $21 on takeout

So, $50 precisely.

What We Ate

Saturday

I was at work, and I ate my soup for lunch, along with my trusty popcorn and an orange.

Also some chocolate. 😉

After work, I ate plain shredded wheat with some berries, because I am back in high-fiber world again. Woohoo!

Sunday

I spent most of the day doing homework, and at dinnertime, Zoe and I got some Panera. I chose my trusty spicy steak bagel, but unfortunately they did toast my bagel a little too long (which is saying something coming from me, because I like a bold level of toasting!)

Monday

Zoe was at work, and I made myself a plate of mashed potatoes, tilapia, and broccoli.

I realize the broccoli looks terribly boring, but it does have butter and garlic powder on it.

Tuesday

Zoe was at a college class, so I was on my own again. For some reason, I was not terribly hungry, so I decided to use my cooking-for-one privilege, and I had a bowl of cream of wheat plus an orange.

Wednesday

I had a single sweet potato to use, so I baked that and topped it with chicken (mixed with some chipotle chilies), an avocado, and some cilantro-lime sauce.

While I was waiting for the potato to bake, I had some cucumbers dipped in the cilantro-lime sauce.

Thursday

I had the other half of the potato for lunch.

I was not super hungry at dinnertime, so I suggested some French toast for dinner and Zoe was agreeable. 🙂

Friday

I'm working the next four Fridays, but I am off today, thanks to the personal leave I redeemed!

I need to check and see if Zoe has any plans or not, because that will affect my dinner ideas.

What did you have for dinner this week?

And a bonus question: what's your preferred level of toasting for breadstuffs? Are you a fan of the barely-heated-and-rather-blonde toasting style, or do you like yours quite browned?

  1. I'd say I prefer light brown toasting - not blond, not dark brown.

    This week we had:
Saturday: After trick-or-treating, no one was very hungry. We baked a bag of fries and a bag of onion rings, heated a bag of mixed veggies, and called it good.

Sunday: We were on our way home from a weekend getaway and drove through the city my brother lives in. We stayed there long enough to eat dinner with him at Culver's (after shopping in the "big city").

    Monday: Chicken tacos

Tuesday: Pork chops, sweet potatoes, and pineapple

Wednesday: Shepherd's pie, baked beans, and biscuits. We had a couple of extra kids with us this night, so I was glad it was an easy recipe to double.

Thursday: My husband and kids had pizza at church after helping with something there. I was catering and had a salad with chicken on it.

Friday: I am catering again and will eat there (I believe roast beef is on tonight's menu). I will pull out a pan of enchiladas from the freezer for people at home. Or they can have leftover shepherd's pie and save the enchiladas for tomorrow since this catering stretch is a 3-day all day/all evening thing.
