Menu 9.6-9.12 and grocery spending

My menu this week is a bit boring…my husband is out of town for training, and so I’m not doing anything terribly fancy. Then too, we’re leaving for vacation on Saturday, and my mission this week is to eat up all the food in my fridge. So, the side dishes aren’t planned quite as carefully as usual…I’m just going to rummage through the fridge and serve whatever needs to be eaten. 😉

Saturday

  • Homemade pizza

Sunday

  • We were at a cookout, and I didn’t have to make a thing!

Monday

  • Cheese Quesadillas
  • Green Beans
  • Peaches

Tuesday

  • BBQ Chicken

Wednesday

  • Individual pizzas

Thursday

  • Panini sandwiches

Friday

  • We’re eating whatever leftovers we might possibly still have!

Now, for my grocery spending. I spent:

$63.45 at Weis
$22.80 at a locally owned store

for a total of $86.25.

So, I was $6.25 over my goal, but I’m still pretty happy. In addition to the usual groceries, I bought two huge packs of chicken breasts($1.69 a pound! woot!), two pounds of bacon, and 5 pounds of ground beef, so I’m pretty set on meat for a while. And since I managed to do it while barely going over my $80 goal, I’m feeling none too shabby.

My husband would like to eat at your house. All I heard from him this week was "Green beans and summer squash....again?" But hey, it's abundant and it's FREE!
