I'm fine!

I know that since I post so consistently, some of you worry about me if I miss a day.

Soooo, this is just to say that I'm fine; I just ran out of time this morning!

kristen chiquita.

But I will be back tomorrow with Thankful Thursday. 🙂

  1. How about some puns for this quiet blog day? My Valentine's day was partially frugal-- the frugal part was the card I DIYd for my husband! I took some wiener dogs pictures I had previously colored with alcohol markers (winter hobby), and researched wiener dog puns to accompany the art. 1. I looooooong for you. 2. I just saw how handsome you are. Dachshund-believable! 3. Life is weinerful with you! 4. And honorable mention to one I didn't put in the card, because I've been using a sketchbook for his cards that I'll eventually have our future children write in as well: your wiener is my favorite. ;D

    1. @Andrea G / Midwest Andrea, re: your #4: You might hide it somewhere, so that your future grandchildren can find it and say, "Weren't Grandma and Grandpa a couple of dirty old people?!"

  2. I'll probably be MIA myself on Thursday and Friday, so I'm just going to drop a few Thanksgivings here, early.

    1. Thankful that my daughter got home from her trip to Finland and Sweden safely. I can't say "without incident", because her checked luggage got left in Atlanta, but she did end up getting it the next day. It was ruined, but they have offered to get her a new one and none of the contents were ruined or lost.

    2. Thankful that my granddaughter knew the answer to a single-question pop quiz in class - where it is best to prick a finger to draw blood. DH had taught her that, and had her prick his fingers for him sometimes. All but two in the class missed the question. The other person who got it right was also the grandchild of a type-1 diabetic . I'm thankful that at least our oldest grandchild got to spend enough years with DH to have been close to him, enjoy him in his healthier years, and learn from him.

    3. I'm thankful I will be taking a few days off to visit my sister. The closer I get to retirement, the harder it is to come to work, even though I like my job and co-workers!

Have a good rest of the week, all.

    1. @JD, again, I hope you have a lovely time with your sister. And, take it from me, you'll enjoy retirement and all the time it gives you to pursue your many interests. Come on in, the water's fine!

  3. I forgot one!

I'm thankful that when the teller cashing a check for me in the drive-through yesterday forgot to return my driver's license, that I stopped for gas a few minutes down the road and realized it was not in the envelope with the cash. I got back to the bank just after closing and managed to rap on the door and get someone to give me my license. I'm glad I wasn't on my way to my sister's today before realizing it!

  4. I'm ghost-writing a guest post from Chiquita: "My human mom is very good to me, but I don't think she feeds me enough. Please send lots of noms care of The Frugal Girl." (NB: This is no slam on Kristen's cat-rearing. No cat, especially not my Betty, ever thinks he/she gets enough noms.)

    1. @Chiquita, we see your level of starvation and general neglect in every single photo of you! The check's in the mail.

    2. @A. Marie, Baron von Fluffenhausen is currently mewing pathetically at me, because his bowl is empty and it's not lunchtime yet. In a few minutes he will flop on the floor pathetically and do an interpretive dance indicating his level of privation and hunger.

    3. @A. Marie, my Dora thunders up the kitty steps to her feeding perch in the laundry room every time she sees me walking in that direction. She gets fed six very tiny meals a day or she'd be the size of a bear cub. It's just awful how mistreated she thinks she is! 😀

    4. @A. Marie,
Our Lafayette, Supreme Ruler of the Comfy Couch, will not let you forget that he is *famished* 24/7, even if he just ate or is asleep.

  5. Thank you for your consistent posting! One of the first bloggers I ever followed just went silent. Her commenters went nutso, and yet she stayed quiet. I think she switched to Instagram or some other place, but without warning or explanation. Rude. Thank you for not being rude!

    1. @Central Calif. Artist Jana, two of my favorites just stopped with no farewell. It made me sad and angry to be treated disrespectfully. Like being unfriendly.

  6. Hope all is well with you and your crew. How you are able to keep up the daily posts—with images—is a wonder given your schedule. Sending good vibes for a calm evening and day tomorrow.

  7. Kristen, as much as I enjoy and appreciate your Monday-Friday posts, it seems reasonable for us to start getting used to irregular posts prior to your going to a full-time nursing schedule.

    1. Well, maybe not! I actually think that once I'm done with school and I'm just working my shifts, my life is going to be LESS crazy than it is now. You get to clock out of nursing shifts, but you never really clock out of nursing school. 🙂
