I'm curious...

question-mark2

How did you find my blog? On my blog's dashboard I can see where some of you come from, but I thought it would be interesting to ask.

So, if you don't mind(and if you can remember!), I'd love it if you'd leave a comment telling me how you came to be a reader of The Frugal Girl!

  1. I subscribe to all sorts of feeds using Google Reader. Your website was suggested to me, and I read it in my reader each day.

  2. I know I found you through another blog but cannot remember which one. I was so excited to find yours because my husband and I were trying to figure out ways to live more frugally (for just the 2 of us we were spending upwards of 500 dollars a month on groceries, and that didn't include eating out or wine!). Your site has had great ideas, and I've also tried to not waste food, making sure we use everything we can!

  3. Hi,
I think from moneysavingmom's Saturday post... but I may be wrong. I have you bookmarked & read you daily. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE your posts (esp the furniture!). You have inspired me to change up my bedroom this past weekend. Thanks!

  4. I googled the word frugal, since I am always trying to find ways to save money.I now have you in my google reader.

  5. I am pretty sure it was from Wasted Food sometime last fall...but can't recall (and can't recall how I got to Wasted Food, either!!). But I love it!

  6. I honestly can't recall but I think it must have been a link from another blog. That or google reader suggested you to me! 🙂

  7. I can't remember exactly, but I think it was a link from Bouncing back from Bankruptcy? OR a link off of one of the Bloggers listed there.

  8. I found you from a very relevant post on eGullet. Now I've read your entire blog and liked it so much as to link it from my blog. 🙂

  9. I can't remember, but it must have been from a link on another blog. I'm mostly a book blogger, and have just recently found these frugal sites. I love them!

  10. I came from your original blog and forums long ago. I'm glad you started blogging and putting your info in one nifty location.

  11. Katy at the Non-Consumer Advocate was the first blog I read. I found her as a fellow Compacter through the Compact yahoo group blog listings. Then after I'd read her for a couple of weeks, I started going to other links from her blogroll and also from comments. I can't remember if I found you through the comments or the blogroll, but it was definitely through her site.

  12. I came the same way as Angela, the comment above mine. From the Yahoo compact group to Katy's blog and then to yours. Your blog is the only one (of that group) I still read, and I no longer belong to the Yahoo group. You're just special 🙂

  13. I found your blog when searching for an easy to make compost bin..... I liked your writing style and what you were writing about so added you in to my Yahoo feed.

    Happy Birthday!

    thanks for the great tips!

    Keri

  14. I know I found you on someone's blog roll but I don't remember which one. I've seen you on a lot of blog rolls though, you are a very popular Girl.

  15. I think I was googling "frugal tips" or something and your site popped up. I read all of your posts (archived ones too) in one night.

  16. One of the Pasadena Freecycle emails you sent had your links in it and I clicked on them, liked what I saw, and subscribed. 🙂

  17. I was happy to find you on Katy's Non Consumer Advocate. I found Mrs. Green (Zero Waste) hanging out there too!

  18. I found you through The Simple Dollar. I think you had commented on a post and I followed your link.

  19. I was going through my web stats one day and saw your site in my stats. DivineBird, a friend of mine, had mentioned my blog in her comment. I've been reading everyday since!

  20. I found you by reading coupon cravings and I really enjoy reading your blog, I am changing my spending life. Have a good day !!!

  21. I googled how to make homemade applesauce and got a link to your blog. Started reading...and got hooked!! 🙂

  22. I found you when I searched Pasadena Blogs - yours was the only one there. I got interested when you said that you use your tea bags twice. I thought I was the only one that did that and was embarrased when anyone found out. I actually used to hide my thriftiness - not anymore! Thanks for sharing, especially your bread recipes!

  23. i'm pretty sure it was from another blog -- either Klinging to Your Cash or Kitchen Counter Economics. i read a few of your posts and subbed right away! 🙂

  24. Well, you know how we originally met (Couponing Group) and I've just kept in touch with you since well... Almost 8 years ago.... I guess we met officially, the Sunday after September 11, 2001... I can't believe it has been that long!

BTW, Your blog is an inspiration. You've inspired me to bake more, and to paint furniture-and to take on more projects--frugally!

    You are an Awesome mom,too!!

    Love,

    Ellie

  25. I don't remember how I found your blog, but I love reading blogs and websites about how to live more frugally. Were you ever mentioned by "The Simple Dollar" blog or by "Dining on a Dime?"

  26. I can't be certain but I think it was through a comment you left on My Zero Waste - or was it The Rubbish Diet? Anyway I've been following you ever since. It's good to know that there are people on both sides of 'the pond' who are thinking along the same lines.

  27. Google!

I was looking for "how to be frugal/ways to save" blogs and now I just keep coming back to yours. Love your advice and your strategies... I am a newlywed with a husband in medical school- my little salary is all we have to work with (as well as some growing med school debt!), and your site keeps me going with fresh ideas on how to save and just how to live better. Thank you!

  28. I was going to buy new furniture, but when I got laid off unexpectedly, I decided to refinish/paint/reupholster what I did have!! When I googled "painting furniture," I found your site. I LOVED the black furniture you painted, your instructions were bottom line, you provided lots of "inside" info that comes with experience, shared what products worked well, and more. I'm working on the kitchen furniture, and then am hitting the bedroom! It's amazing how a coat of paint can make something feel so new!

  29. I saw a comment you made at Femina and was intrigued by the name, "thefrugalgirl". I've been reading your posts ever since then because they inspire me and 'cause I just like you!

  30. I think I found you from a comment you left on The Non-Consumer Advocate. But I may be wrong.

  31. rofl, Katy! You crack me up.

I think you're right, though...I found your blog before you found mine. I think it was a salad dressing recipe post on your blog that I came across somehow.

Annie's Granny, I had NO idea you were a compacter!

And everyone else, thanks for all the responses. These have been really fun to read(and please, keep them coming!).

  32. I found you on a link from The Non-Consumer Advocate website. Now I check here everyday! Keep up the good work!:)

  33. Actually, I believe you were a refrence blog from an on-line article I read regarding frugal-ness. Can't remember off-hand the title or source of the article, but I liked your blog so much that I bookmarked it. The link was at the bottom of the article for more information

  34. Hi Kristen, Actually Lindsey found you first on Femina and mentioned something about your site. I've been browsing and reading ever since.

  35. Either, I saw your blog recommended on someone else's OR I found you searching the word "Frugal" in Google Reader. Love your blog no matter how I found you :o)

  36. uuuuuhm...... via een link op een andere amerikaanse weblog die ik regelmatig lees.
erg leuk om te lezen hoe het jullie vergaat aan de andere kant van de oceaan.

translation: I found you on a link on an other weblog from an American blogger.
great to read and learn about the other side of the ocean.
I'm from the netherlands by the way and also living frugal.

  37. Definitely via a mention on Get Rich Slowly. Possibly from another blog before that, can't quite remember. Mostly I discovered blogs via other blogs with a few discovered via Google.

  38. Hi!

I actually live in your area and found out about your blog through a friend of mine. She found you on freecycle which we both use and love. Thanks so much for a terrific blog! I love it!
