Get a plastic-free, reusable storage bag for just $1!

I signed up with Mighty Fix over a year and a half ago after I saw an offer on Money Saving Mom. I still have my subscription, which I pay for myself, and after I'd had my fix for a while, I reached out to ask the people at Mighty Nest if they'd work with me to put together offers for you.   So, while this post contains affiliate links, please know that my experience with the Mighty Fix is authentic, and my partnership with them was something I pursued.

If you've been around here for a while, you know that every so often, the people over at Mighty Nest send over a special offer for you guys, and today is one of those days.

This is actually the best offer I've gotten for you all ever because instead of $5 or $3, this time you can sign up as a new Mighty Fix member and get your first fix for just $1.

Woohoo!

In case you're new: The Mighty Fix is a monthly subscription service offer by The Mighty Nest, a purveyor of eco-friendly products.   Each month, you pay $10 and you get an item worth at least $10 shipped to your door (often the item is worth $15+).

You can add any other items from Mighty Nest to your fix for no additional shipping fee, which is a nice side benefit.

You never get duplicate items (no two fixes are ever repeated) and the items are almost always super practical, useful stuff.

For example, I've gotten wool dryer balls, organic cotton dishcloths, natural sunscreen (which worked great!), glass containers, a glass water bottle, and more.

Mighty Fix Review | The Frugal Girl

(The only more luxurious than practical fix I've ever gotten was a soy candle.   But I'd say that that is most definitely the exception.   So, if you want practical over luxurious, this is a subscription service for you.)

I'm not gonna lie: it's a lot of fun to open up the Mighty Fix package each month and see what's inside!

Now that you're all caught up on what the Mighty Fix is, let's get back to the offer I mentioned at the beginning.

Subscribe to the Mighty Fix through this link(or any links in this post) and get your first month for just $1 (and no shipping!).

Your regular fix will be a surprise each month, but just this one time, I can tell you what you're getting. 😉

It's a plastic-free, 100% silicone Stasher bag, which retails for $11.99.

(so you'll get it for $11 off!)

The Stasher is a reusable, washable, air-tight bag made of 100% pure food-grade silicone and it's meant to replace disposable plastic bags.

It's freezer-safe. AND it's dishwasher safe, so it's a breeze to clean.

While I'm a huge fan of reusable glass or metal containers, the Stasher bag is a handy thing to have for items that don't fit super well in containers.

For example, I've been using mine to store leftover homemade pizza.

And it's handy for things like a partially-eaten package of crackers. You can squeeze all the extra air out, seal it, and the crackers will stay nice and fresh.

The seal is so easy to use. As in, way easier than the seals on disposable plastic bags.

I'm hoping that eventually Stasher will come out with some larger versions of these, as I can think of all sorts of uses for a gallon-size Stasher.

Anyway!

One Stasher can replace thousands of disposable plastic bags (did you know 20 million plastic sandwich bags are thrown away every day?), so it is totally, totally worth the $1 you're going to pay for your first fix.

To get started, sign up for Mighty Fix through any links in this post, and you'll get your first fix (the Stasher bag) for just $1.

You can cancel at any time, so trying Mighty Fix is risk-free. Mighty Nest is a small company that wants to take good care of their customers, so don't be scared that you're signing up for one of those fly-by-night kinds of subscription services.

Of course, Mighty Nest hopes that you'll love getting eco-friendly, healthy products in your mailbox each month and that you'll stay subscribed. But if you try it and decide it's not right for you, it's simple to contact their customer service representatives.

And if you run into any problems, just leave a comment to let me know, and the kind people at Mighty Nest will get you all fixed up.

  1. Hi Kristin. Thanks for arranging the Mighty Fix offer. I became a subscriber after reading about it from you. I do love getting a package every month of something that I know will be eco friendly and practical. Im just wondering if you have an offer for current subscribers- this bag looks great! Thanks.

  2. Excited to hear about this "stasher". I have been looking for a reusable bag option, but sadly the few I have tried have left my crackers and sandwiches stale. This looks like it will be a winner! I gifted my sister and brother-in-law the mighty fix subscription for Christmas. AND now I am wishing I had got one for myself too 😀

  3. I was just thinking about our wasteful Ziploc bags this past weekend. I made plenty of freezer meals but felt a little guilty freezing them in single-use plastic bags. Ugh! Hopefully silicone baggies like these will become more economical and we can move away from so much darn plastic. 😉

  4. I'm already a member, since reading about it in your blog a while back, and I have 2 of the stashers; one I received as my monthly item, one I bought. I wash mine in the dishwasher each time with no problem. I hope to eventually not have to use disposable bags at all, so I am slowly building a collection of storage pieces to take the place of freezer and storage bags.
Oh, and another silicone item I got from Mighty Nest, which I ordered, and I'm so glad I did, is a large silicone lid. My crockpot lid had broken and I had not found one to replace it, unless I pay almost as much as the whole crockpot cost. The silicone lid from Mighty Nest has replaced the broken lid, but even better, it's a multi-tasker; I use it as a lid for my cast iron skillet on the stove top and as a lid in the oven for my baking dishes that don't have one. Also, when I just need to chill something for a few hours in the refrigerator, I pull out that silicone lid to cover the bowl instead of fussing with one-use plastic wrap.

  5. I have resisted the lure of Might Nest because I have pretty much everything I need and I rewash ziplocs (unless they've had raw meat in them). This bag is enough to push me over the edge: I shall get a subscription to take advantage of the offer.

Do subscribers get advance notice of what's in the month's package?

      1. Is there any way to opt out of certain things? For instance; I'm allergic to wool, so if the dryer balls were the 'surprise ' that month it would pretty much be wasted on me...?

        1. Unfortunately, no. I don't believe there's any option like this...whatever shows up is whatever shows up in your fix.

  6. On the fence other times, like William. Gave in this time after seeing other things on their site that I will use. And I purchased 2 other things, too. And, you can support a school with 15% of the total, if there is one on their list you'd choose. I did. Woohoo. Thanks Kristen.

  7. I haaaate plastic bags, but consider them a necessary evil. Way back when my husband and I were footloose and fancy free (ie before children) we used few and washed the same ones over and over. Now we have three little ones who need lunches packed for daycare, and Lord knows we don't have the two minutes we used to take to wash them. So I am forever buying bags. I am excited to see there is another option. Can't wait to sign up!

    1. Amanda, you might want to look at Lunchskins (which are available through Mighty Nest). I was already a big fan and was happy when I received a sandwich size and a snack size one month. They are easy to keep clean, come in all sorts of fun designs and more economical than the Stasher for three little people!

    2. Amanda,
I got two kids through daycare and school lunches without using plastic bags- I found a (ziplock or glad) plastic container that would hold sandwiches (the key is getting the right height of the container so that it keeps the sandwich together) and I use small plastic containers with lids for everything else- snacks, fruit, pasta, veggies etc! Good luck!

    3. Like the other 2 postings, I currently use a combination of the Lunchskins and little small plastic containers for my daughter's lunch. It is very rare we use plastic baggies anymore! She's only in kindergarten, so I try to make the containers as light as possible and these work great.

  8. I just signed up. Thanks for arranging it. We use ziploc bags all the time. Looking forward to trying this one out.

  9. If you're a Mighty Fix subscriber, you can add other items from Mighty Nest to your monthly shipment, and still get free shipping on the whole thing!

  10. I signed up when they offered the water bottle and it's been a lot of fun because you never know what will be in the package! The Stasher is nice and handy and as Kristen has mentioned, a larger size would be nice. Thanks again Kristen!

  11. What a great idea! I never thought of using a reusable bag for storage before. Normally, I just use plastic or glass containers.

  12. I tried the link and it's charging me $10.00 for the mighty fix subscription. I know, I'm late here but I just had a baby. Thanks!

    1. Unfortunately, my discount code isn't valid at the moment. But often, you can go directly to the site and there will be a pop-up with a special sign-up offer. Give that a try!
