Normally on Tuesdays, I post a photo, but I’ve been a terrible slacker with my real camera of late. All I’ve been taking are Instagram photos with my phone.
I feel like I’m having a fairly unproductive summer, at least as compared to usual. I haven’t even knocked out any of my painting projects!
But this is partly because I’ve been letting the to-do list go in favor of spending time with people. And doing some fun stuff.
I’ve been walking with Mr. FG pretty much every day, biking with him and Sonia and Zoe, taking my kids to the park and pool, getting together with friends, and making a 10pm donut run with Joshua and Lisey (ok, that only happened once. Ha.)
So, I’ve been a bit of a slacker on the blog front. Erm, sorry about that!
Another reason I’ve been a little busy is because Joshua has a job, but no driver’s license (not for another few weeks), and that means he needs a chauffeur.
(Not to brag, but I was basically a shoo-in for that job. )
Speaking of jobs, Lisey got a job too! She’s working at an ice cream shop, which is basically her lifelong dream. She’s not even 16 yet, so she’ll need to be chauffeured for a while. Luckily, her job is closer than Joshua’s, so driving her is pretty easy.
I’m super happy that she was able to find a job. She’s been very anxious to work, but boy, it’s hard to find openings when you’re 15…a whole lot more opens up once you turn 16.
Life at our house is a lot different than it was a year ago, or even a few months ago. Last night, it was just Mr. FG, Sonia, Zoe, and me at the dinner table!
This is a little bit sad for Sonia (and especially Zoe, who seems to feel change more acutely), but I know they’ll get used to it. And maybe they’ll even come to enjoy having their parents all to themselves every now and then.
Flying by the seat of my pants and doing fun things has been great, but I do still want to get some of my productive bucket list things knocked out before school starts (in a mere 7-8 weeks). Hopefully I can cross some of that stuff off and still keep the fun and spontaneity thing happenin’.
Aaaand that’s about all the consciousness I have to stream for the moment.
P.S. I’m on Facebook, Twitter, and Pinterest, but if you want to keep up with the goings-on in my life, Instagram is the place to catch me. I’m thefrugalgirl over there, and even if you don’t have a smartphone, you can see my posts on instagram’s website.
