Every week, I post a picture of the food that has gone bad over the last seven days. Why do I do this? Because in March of 2008, I finally got fed up with the amount of food I was wasting, and I thought that showing my waste to other people would motivate me to use up my food instead of wasting it. Because this often embarrassing practice was so helpful for me, I invited other bloggers to join me in posting their food waste photos, and Food Waste Friday was born. If you’re not a blogger but still want some food waste accountability, feel free to participate by leaving a comment.
That’s not at all relevant to my food waste (actually, having 8 mouths to feed might assist with that!), but I thought it would make a fun title.
Three nephews and one niece arrived here last night…my 3 nephews are staying with us until Saturday afternoon, and my niece is here until this afternoon. So, I have kids here who are 11, 9, 6, 6, 4, 4, 4, and almost 1.5. It’s a little crazy, but then one would expect that, because to have this arrangement of children, I’d have had to have twins and triplets!
Anyways, if I seem a little absent in the comments and such for the next day or two, you’ll know why.
In more relevant news, I’m pleased to share that I have no waste this week! However, my fridge has now fully recovered from its post-vacation emptiness, and I’m feeling a little nervous that I’m going to lose something in there. Must eat down the fridge.
How did you do this week? If you blogged about your food waste, link us up by entering your info into the widget below. You’ll save money, reduce your trash output, and get a little publicity for your blog! And if you don’t blog, you can still share about your food waste by leaving a comment.
