Today I am…

nursing a cold I came down with on Friday.

grateful that at least I didn’t come down with it on Christmas weekend.

drinking a green smoothie.

planning to drink tea after that.   I am totally going to drown this cold, people.

hoping to get my house into a less messy state.

also hoping to get the present situation more organized.   My bedroom currently looks like an Amazon warehouse exploded.

happy that Mr. FG, Sonia, Zoe and I had a hilarious time trying out the game Snake Oil last night.

planning to do some planning…I need to make a menu plan, and I also need to do some music planning for church.

(Why yes, I am indeed a J on the Myers Briggs scale.)

happy that we are off of school this week. Woohoo!

relieved that almost all of my dissolving stitches have fallen out of my nose (they get uncomfortable after a while).   Only one is left, and I think my doctor might remove that one for me at my checkup this week.

(In case you missed it, I had functional rhinoplasty in mid-November.)

enjoying the sunshine. One nice thing about the leaves being gone now is that my house is brighter than in early fall, even though the sun isn’t getting high in the sky these days.

remembering that we are ALMOST to the shortest day of the year here. Yay!   The days will start getting longer again so so soon.

This does not mean that warmer weather is nigh (quite the opposite), but you gotta take what you can get. 😉

Alrighty…I’d better get to brewing my tea. And planning my planning.

If you want to, you can play along in the comments and list a few “Today I’m…” things of your own.

Lol, a day late and a dollar short as usual! Hope everyone who has a bug of some sort or another is feeling better soonest. We had a round of illness after Thanksgiving. The little one brought home a bug and gave it to her dad who gave it to the hubs who gave it to the boychild who then caught the stomach bug his sister brought home from work who passed it onto the little one who was sick again from a daycare bug who passed that on to the hubs who was just recovering from the last one..... I've managed to avoid ALL of the bugs so far which means I'll probably be deathly ill for Christmas day, lol!

I finished the last of the shopping for stocking stuffers and groceries yesterday which took up the whole of the day. As I settled in, prepared to relax for the evening, the dog "informed" me that the cat, despicable animal that she is, had peed on her bed. Sigh. Nothing like doing dog/cat laundry at 8:30 at night.

Today was spent cleaning out for fridge and preparing for cookie and bread baking which will take up all of Wednesday and Thursday with present wrapping interspersed between bouts of baking. Friday will be taken up with house cleaning and washing and hanging laundry to dry. Saturday will be devoted to cooking and the evening with driving around to ooooo! and aaah! over the lights everywhere. Then Christmas Day!

Have a very Merry (and well) Christmas everyone!

Thankful for a wonderful husband who makes me laugh even after 34 years together.

Thankful for a snug house and am mindful of how many other people don't have that.

Enjoying a new book a friend took the trouble to send me after she read it and decided I would enjoy it.

Made my favorite comfort food in the winter, mac and cheese. From scratch.

Thankful for my dogs, who are protective and affectionate and have never, ever chewed up anything. One does like to grab the end of the toilet paper and keep it in his mouth as he slowly wanders around the house. But even that makes me laugh. Well, most days.

Today I am... (or did, as the day is almost to a close)

going shopping with my boys so they can buy dollar store presents for their siblings

taking one of my kids to the doctor because he is sick (it ended up being strep throat)

catching up on laundry

planning a special meal for our pastor and his wife who are joining us for dinner this week

trying to stay focused as I am sewing pajamas for my kids for Christmas (almost done, but I've been a little sick this week, too)

getting adjusted to winter in Tennessee. It actually snowed yesterday, but it is not at all like how Colorado snow was for us in years past. Although the fluffy stuff was minimal, it was still bitter cold for us.

practicing "Gesu Bambino"to sing at church on Wednesday night. So excited!

Reading a Christmas book to my kids tonight.
