In two weeks…

On Tuesdays and Thursdays, I post a picture and just a few words.

…the dogwood went from this:

to this:

dogweed tree without leaves

Bummer.

But hey, at least there are still some leaves hanging around, and the dreary brown/gray scenery of January is a ways off.

I keep finding myself inspecting the just-dropped-their-leaves trees for signs of new green. Obviously I forgot that we just had summer. And yeah, although we got an inch or so of snow last night, I would be OK with spring recommencing without the benefit of winter.

Several states north we are in the brown/gray season now, though thankfully not in the white. Not quite ready for all that yet. I'm already longing for green, growing things--afraid it's going to be a long winter...

Except for having to drive in it, I actually prefer the white to the brown/gray. At least the white looks sort of magical.

There's just nothing magical about brown and gray!
