Oh, Irene.

Though the weather outside at the moment is calm, it won’t be that way for long. Irene is supposed to hit us sometime in the next 24 hours, which means that my menu planning and grocery shopping haven’t been at all normal.

I did buy a bunch of candles at Goodwill.

But I did not do a big two-week grocery shop. Instead, we’ve been busily eating down the food in our fridge, and I’ve been storing up ice.

It’s almost guaranteed that our power will go out, so menu planning is sort of pointless. I do plan to utilize our grill to make some dinners while the power is out, though, and we’ll be eating cold lunches and breakfasts.

I haven’t the faintest idea when our power will go out or come back on, so this blog may be quiet for a number of days. I’ll be back as soon as possible, though.

And if I’m feeling very patient, I may try to log on using our Kindle (the web browser on there is pretty clunky) once the storm has passed, just to let you know we’re ok.

Also, I know I can get onto Twitter on Mr. FG’s phone, so if you’re dying to know how we weathered the storm, you can follow me there.

Stay safe, all you fellow east coasters!

edit: The winner of the Scrabble Alphabet Scoops game is One Frugal Girl. Congrats!
