We’re passing the bag with Schoola!

You all already know that we’re pretty darn in love with Schoola, a site that sells gently used kids clothes to raise money for schools.

It’s a win for schools (which always, always need money) and it’s also a win for people like you and me because we can get great clothes at great prices.

Plus, we get to buy second-hand, which reduces demand for new goods, and gives older goods a new lease on life.

There’s nothing to hate and everything to love.

Schoola sent us a donation bag so that we could explore the donation side of their program.   The bag has helpful instructions printed right on it.

And it comes with a postage-paid label, which means donating costs you nothing.

So that your school gets the credit, there’s a little label for you to fill out as well.

Now, the good news is that you do NOT have to select your kids’ own school.

If you homeschool (raises hand!) or you just want the money to go to a school that’s less well-off than your own, you can insert whatever school you want.

I know some of you were concerned that a disproportionate amount of money would go to wealthy schools through Schoola’s program (because wealthy schools will tend to have awesome stuff to sell), so this is a perfect way around that issue.

If you want the money from your donation to go to a particular school in need, you are totally in control of that.

Since we homeschool, I’m going to see if I can find out what school in my area could most use the money and designate that school on my bag.

Women’s Clothes are Coming!

Schoola has previously only accepted children’s clothing, but this spring, they’re going to start introducing women’s clothing.

SWEET.

So, when filling your bag, you can look for gently used, stylish clothes in your kids’ closets and also in your own closet.

To encourage everyone to donate and raise money for schools, Schoola is running a #PasstheBag challenge.

To participate in Schoola’s #PasstheBag challenge, here’s what ya need to do.

1) Go online to Schoola and request a bag.

2) Fill it, and send it in for the benefit of your child’s school. Schoola is now accepting women’s as well as children’s clothing, so use this as an opportunity to clean out your closets and start the new year off fresh!

3) Challenge at least 3 friends or family members to do the same by posting on Facebook or Twitter and using the hashtag #PasstheBag.
