(it was dark when I took this photo, so it’s not my best work ever, but the scene was so funny, I took a picture anyway!)
Last night after dinner, Zoe took it upon herself to fold a basketful of laundry. She actually did a pretty good job (she always loves to fold towels and washcloths), but it just never occurs to her to stack laundry as she folds. So, it kind of looks like a bomb went off when she’s done. Lisey actually came upstairs, surveyed the living room and asked, “What happened here??”.
After she folded the laundry, she came into the kitchen and offered to dry some dishes for me (“I would love to dry some dishes, Mommy. I’ll be right there!”)
I wonder if her anxiousness to help might be related to her being the youngest. She’s so used to everyone else being able to do jobs and chores, and I think she feels grown-up when she can be helpful.

hahahaahaaaaaaaa i love this!!
It is a very tidy bomb that went off. : )
Love this picture and suspect your insight is dead-on! I’m from a bigger family. I sometimes think that my mom was so crazed from dealing with the logistics of her brood that she didn’t have time for this kind of analysis.
My sisters and I would stack the clean clothes up the stairs so each person could reclaim theirs as they went up to their bedrooms. The living room below often looked like this and worse on laundry day before the stacking was done.
I think I’m in love with Zoe, she has so much personality!
Katy
I’m pretty in love with her too.
She definitely adds some color to our family life.
How sweet! LOL
That’s hysterical! I love it!
Tee-hee!! Maybe it’s the same compulsion that exhibits itself when Zoe’s unwrapping presents and puts them in a particular spot. Funny funny!!!
And the same one that makes her line up her pistachio shells?
We love that Zoe!=)
Too funny! Do you think she has a system as to how/where she puts the folded items on the floor? And I love Lisey’s comment . . .
A very sweet and age appropriate contribution to family life.
A very tidy bomb.
