…some fruits, vegetables, cheese cubes, and hot corn muffins are just the thing to have in place of the dinner you planned.

I am curious if you have an 830p bedtime what time does the family sit down for dinner?

We usually try to have dinner on the table at 5:00. Sometimes I run late and we don’t eat until 5:30, but eating at 5:00 definitely makes our evenings go more smoothly.

That looks suspiciously like my lunch…. which is always just an assortment of fruits and veggies – plus some yogurt. It’s an easy way to get all those servings in, I can graze all day, it’s yummy, and I’m (hopefully) setting a healthy example for my (not so healthy) coworkers!

Oh, my growing 14-year-old would definitely balk at a dinner like that one! Hungry, growing boys need protein and carbs, in a big way, apparently. Sometimes it seems that he stands in front of the refridgerator and simply inhales everything that’s in there.

But that assortment of items looks good to me. Maybe I’ll start imitating Molly and bring that for lunch. :-)

On a normal night, this would probably not be substantial enough for us, either. But we had had a late lunch that was more dinner-like than lunch-like, and so none of us were as hungry as usual. :)

Oh, my husband and I love this type of dinner…on occasion anyways! We’ve even been known to do popcorn instead of dinner (while watching a movie of course!) when we’re not terribly hungry.
