You know how I did a thorough cabinet clean-out recently?
Well, I found this lurking in a dark corner.

Joshua’s the only one of my babies who ever really used a pacifier, and this is one of his. How it managed to get moved from the townhouse to this house is really beyond me, but I think it’s safe to say that we can get rid of it at this point.

I love the way the lighting looks when you put someone next to a window…lighter on one side, darker on the other.
Sometimes Joshua does a geek/nerd impression.
And apparently, now Zoe does too.

Key ingredients: pulled-up pants, tucked-in shirt, and lens-less 3d glasses.
Also, a nerdy expression.

It look a bit more like coarse salt had fallen from the sky than snow. But it was still beautiful, and the kids managed to do a bit of sledding on the icy asphalt.
A swimsuit, hanging on our drying rack.

The swimsuits usually stay packed away during the winter months but the hotel near Monticello had an indoor pool, and our children were delighted to have a January swim.
But now the suits are all washed and dried and put away, and we probably won’t see them again until May.

It’s my main dish list, and it’s utterly outdated and worn.
I think this job should go on my next goal list.
Zoe thoroughly documented our visit to Monticello with her little Kid Tough camera.

I love how much she loves her camera. That’s my girl!

…I took this picture.

And I was happy. Why? Because it was decidedly NOT pitch black. I’m so pleased that the days are getting a bit longer now, even if by just a few minutes.

It’s how I always use to make them when I was little. But the kids and I learned a neat way to make paper snowflakes that actually look like snowflakes. We’ll share on the main blog later this week.

Sonia and Zoe saw this idea in their Big Backyard magazine a while back, and we finally got around to trying it. It’s apple slices, pretzel sticks, and animal crackers, which are held on with peanut butter.
Oh, and that’s a strawberry up on top (we used the frozen ones, since “fresh” strawberries are awfully expensive right now.)
