Mr. FG’s grandma left her Christmas decorations up until our Saturday visit, and our kids especially enjoyed these lights. They start sending up swirling bubbles once the light bulbs warm up, and watching to see which one would start to bubble next kept our children quite entertained.

These really are fun! I haven’t seen them like this before, we had some when I was a child that went right onto the tree! My husband’s mother saved hers and now we have them! Vintage from the 50s I think.
These were my favorite when I was young.. I don’t even know if you can get them any more?
Wonder what happen to the ones we did have? I should as my mom……
My hubby was given a set of these for the tree one year – the only problem is we keep our house so cool, the lights never get warm enough to bubble!
My grandparents had these on their tree when I was a kid. I wonder what happened to them. I should check with my Aunt. I would love to have them.
I do so love it that your kids seem to appreciate the simpler things in life. So many kids these days are nothing short of malcontents. Listening to you talk of your kids and what amuses them is quite refreshing. Thank you so much for it!
I LOVED these when I was little. We had them mixed in with the other lights on our tree. I remember seeing some in a store a few years ago. We also had snowball bulbs on our tree. They were round colored bulbs with a crusting over them that made them look like snowballs.
THAT IS SO BEAUTIFUL! IT ALMOST REMINDS ME OF A VERSION OF THE MENORAH LIGHTS. YOU HAVE SUCH A WONDERFUL FAMILY!
Stephanie, I had forgotten those snowball light bulbs, we used to have a few when I was a kid, and I loved them! I also loved the bubble lights on my aunt’s tree. The bubble lights are still sold, my sister got two sets on sale after Christmas to add to their tree next year.
