Well, little probably isn’t the right word. The wind, hail, and rain left our streets and yards littered with leaves and branches and our house without power.
Fortunately, we were mostly in bed until the power came back on (Mr. FG and I both had to have candlelit showers this morning, though!).
I say “in bed”, not “asleep” because I didn’t sleep nearly as much as I’d have liked. I slept for a few hours, a kid came down to complain about being hot, I had a terrible time going back to sleep after that, and just as I finally dozed off, another kid came down to say she was hungry (Really? Since when was the kitchen open at 2:00 am???).
This reminds me that I am super-duper glad to be out of the getting-up-with-babies-in-the-middle-of-the-night stage (none of mine were good sleepers!). Because after a not-great night, I can at least look forward to a better night tonight.

Perhaps child is growing… but that doesn’t mean YOU have to open the kitchen! (I say this because for a while I would wake up at 4am every day, starving. I’d eat a bowl of cereal and go back to bed.)
Wasn’t it awful? Our power went out 4 or 5 times but came back on after a minute or two. I had a candle burning just in case.
My husband was pretty funny though. He pulled into the driveway and then called from his cell phone to unlock and open the door so he wouldn’t be standing in the downpour struggling with the key.
Thank God for the good days and the calm after the storms of life!
