The top Frugal Girl posts from 2017

Happy New Year, frugal friends!

I missed talking to you guys last week, but it was definitely a smart choice to take the week off.

I thought I might get a bit of down time, but it ended up being a very busy week, with lots of social plans (mostly for my girls! Sonia and Zoe had 4 sleepovers in 5 days.)

So, I’m not sure I’d have found time to blog even if I’d planned to.

Anyway, to get me back into the blogging groove, here are the top five posts I wrote in 2017.

1. Stitch Fix. And also Stitch Fix. Plus: Stitch Fix.

My October Stitch Fix post is the most viewed post I wrote in 2017.

My September Stitch Fix Post is number three.

And my November Stitch Fix (the one with the flying squirrel sweater!) is the fifth most popular post of 2017.

Some readers really dislike my Stitch Fix posts, but one thing is for certain: an awful lot of people do read them.

Which I completely understand…seeing non-models try on clothes is so much fun.   I will almost always click on over to read a Stitch Fix review on someone else’s blog!

2. An honest review of Dinnerly.

I wrote a review post about this more budget-friendly dinner box service, and lots of people read it.   It’s the second most popular post of 2017!

3. If you can’t do it all, do these three things.

When life gets temporarily busy, you have to drop something from your life.   There are three things I focus on at times like these, and I let the other stuff go.

(Technically, a Stitch Fix post was #3 and #5, but it’d be very boring if 3/5 in this list were Stitch Fix! So I just picked the next most viewed posts.)

4. I did something stupid and it cost me $50.

Popular because: it’s always fun to read about someone else’s dumb mistakes. 😉

5. What I learned in 2016.

I wrote this post in January of last year, sharing some kind of big things I learned.

Aaand, that makes five.

(well, 8, because of the Stitch Fix posts. Bonus 3!)

I made my Stitch Fix deliveries a little less frequent, which is why I didn’t have one in December.   But I do believe one is headed my way in January.

I feel like this is going to call for some freezing cold outdoor modeling.

Or some shots in poor indoor lighting.

This is a hard choice: personal comfort, or good lighting?

I’m pretty sure I’m going to come down on the side of good lighting. 😉

Hey Kristen! I think your blog posts are popular because your honesty comes through no matter what the topic! I have learned so much from you and your readers! Happy New Year!

I don't have a comment about the topic of today's post--I just was comparing your hairstyle in the different pictures and wanted to let you know that I really like your new cut. (Yes, I know you've had it for awhile, but it was a new thing you tried in 2017 and I think it looks great--wanted to let you know that!). :)

I thought the same thing as I was looking through the photos...I got the shorter hair for my Halloween costume, but I think I actually kinda like it!

Happy New Year to you, too! As a person who tried Stitch Fix this year, too, I read those posts with great interest :-) But I read all of your posts, so I think I would have enjoyed them no matter what.

The stitch fix posts are always fun because of the surprise of what they send. Even though it's not traditionally thrifty it IS thrifty for you because of all the extra traffic, lol!
