5 years later, and she still asks for a turtle.

On Tuesdays and Thursdays, I post a picture and just a few words.

Remember these face-painting pictures from five years ago?   Six-year-old Sonia always chose turtles, and 11-year-old Sonia does too.

I think it’s not a phase.

Also…you might remember that hat.   And its tag.   Which we have since removed.   😉

Five Frugal Things before 11 A.M. today:

1. I made breakfast with tomatoes, avocado and eggs we need to use before we leave town for a family reunion.

2. I sliced up tons of fruit to take on plane in reusable container , and also have sandwich fixings ready so we do not have to eat expensive unhealthy airport food.

3. I did not buy ANY NEW ITEMS for this trip--somehow I often think I need something new to wear on a trip,Truth is I have plenty of clothing shoes, etc and do not need to purchase anything new for a long long time!

4. I cleaned up a $12 bookcase I purchase on HALF PRICE MONDAY at our local thrift store-- it fits into a home office spot that has been patiently waiting for a thrift store find!

5. ???? I made my husband eat the half sandwich I could not finish yesterday, for his breakfast!! LOL!! It wasnt' too soggy!!!!!

How cute! I like turtles, too -- especially the ones with lots of chocolate and gooey caramel! LOL

Oh my, how cute even now! I looked at the '5 years ago' page thought and the first thing I noticed was "oh my, look how young Joshua looks!" It's funny how girls grow vs how boys change over a similar timeframe. Boys, when they become teenagers, look soooo very different to their former selves!

Anyway, love the new turtles. Yay for turtles!

Yes-and the last five years have been those quickly changing years for him, whereas Sonia's been more in that slow-change stage you're in before adolescence.

Slow and steady...not a bad mascot for life, either. Sonia is adorable still, too.

Wow, does that hat still fit? I'm impressed! Bless her, turtles are so cute x

Oh, the hat is pretty new! We just bought that last year in Myrtle Beach.

But she does have kind of a small head, so hats fit her forever. Zoe actually hands hats down to Sonia. Ha.
