The three best Amazon Prime Day deals

Today is Prime Day over at Amazon, which means they’re running a bunch of Black Friday-ish deals exclusively for Prime members.

Not a prime member now?

You can try a free 30-day Amazon Prime trial and you’ll have access to all the offers.

While a lot of the deals are things I’m not interested in (kind of like the real Black Friday! Ha.) a few stuck out to me as super useful.

Kindles

If you’re in the market for a Kindle, today is a GREAT day to buy one, as Kindles are seriously discounted.

Gift Cards (get $10 back)

Buy a gift card multipack you’ll get $10 in Amazon credit, which is pretty awesome.

If you give Amazon gift cards for birthdays or Christmas, get them now and save $10!

You can buy a multipack for as little as $45 (three $15 gift cards) and you’ll get $10 in Amazon credit.

I totally ordered a pack already.   🙂

15% off Amazon Warehouse Deals

Amazon Warehouse Deals is where Amazon sells used and open-box items.

And it’s where Mr. FG and I bought our iPhones (which have been great!).

The 15% off will be applied to your item at checkout…I just tested it with a Vitamix to make sure it works properly and it does indeed.

We’ve had an Amazon Prime membership for years and we love it.   The two-day shipping is really marvelous if you’re a little late shopping for a birthday or for Christmas (ahem).

And if you’re not in a hurry, you can frequently get a $1 Amazon music/video credit for choosing normal shipping.

If you do that enough times, you can make a pretty serious dent in your Amazon Prime subscription fee.   😉

Of course, you can always just use the Amazon Prime trial for 30 days and then cancel, and you won’t owe anything.

(I’m an Amazon affiliate, which means that clicking on these links or trying a free Prime trial helps to support The Frugal Girl at no extra cost to you.   But of course, I pay for my own Amazon Prime membership every year with my own dollars and my enthusiasm for it is authentic.   😉 )

We occasionally use Prime Pantry. It is good when you run out of household goods all at once or just want to stock up. You still have to pay a flat rate shipping fee but if you buy enough you still save money. Before using this we checked prices at the 2 stores that we usually do our shopping. Almost everything was a comparable price or cheaper!

I purchased a Crock Pot from Warehouse Deals yesterday. Between the open box discount and the additional fifteen percent discount, it was about half price. We got Amazon Prime for the fast free shipping. We now also enjoy the videos and music that can be streamed or downloaded to our Kindles, monthly free book rentals, free Kindle First books each month, free photo storage on the cloud, etc. Our family now has one iPad and six Kindles.

I might be a little in love with Prime for the two-day shipping and the reasonable selection of Prime videos and music and also Smile. Prime Day didn't do much for me, though. I was really hoping for deals on things we need (school shoes, cereal, that kind of thing) rather than on deals on things that might be nice to have.

Yeah...Black Friday bugs me that way too. Lots of sales on things I don't want to buy!

I had Prime for a year, but dropped it when it came time to renew. I don't shop that much anymore and really prefer to shop locally with cash, so I wasn't getting the value out of my membership.

I love Prime. I have had it for about 3 years now. I do not use all of the benefits...although I should lol... for me it is worth it.If you are a kindle owner with a Prime membership one of your benefits is a free book from the lending library. The selection is limited, and it is limited to one book per month but it still is a great benefit for me. I also use subscribe and save, which is a separate thing from Prime, to save even more $$$
