Oh, nothing…

On Tuesdays and Thursdays, I post a photo and just a few words.

It’s just me over here, cooking dinner AND IT’S STILL LIGHT OUT.

Sorry.

I’m just a little bit excited about the lengthening days.

Have you noticed?   Every day, there’s just a little bit more time before the sun goes down, and it makes my heart happy.   Even though it’s snowed the last two days, I know spring is on its way.

I didn’t even have to turn the dining room light on during dinner yesterday.   What the what??

Incidentally, have you ever thought how lovely it is that the darkest day of the year happens before Christmas, while we’re still all “Ooh, it’s holiday-sparkly lights-presents season!” and we barely notice how dark it is?

And then once the holidays are over, the days are already lengthening, bit by bit.

(In case you were wondering, I was in the midst of making Aussie Chicken when I took this photo last night.)

Yes! I have noticed. But not so positively lol. I know daylight savings time is coming and my girls have such a hard time adjusting. Hope that this year is different!!

Not a fan of DST or time changing in general...don't see the point in it! Partly because I live in HOT Houston Texas and the onset of DST means summer is on the way, with it's high electric bills and other discomforts!

I check my phone forecast every day just to see when the sun sets. It's getting very close to still being light when I leave work at 6:15. As someone who struggles with depression year-round, I am always happy as the days get longer and longer.

I walk DH to work up a steep hill at 5:45am. I have noticed when I get to the top of the hill and turn around that the sky is blue around the edges instead of black. This has elated me for two days in a row now. Oh, I can't wait until the time changes. I am a spring/summer sort of girl.
