Foggy

(On Tuesdays and Thursdays, I share a photo. Or as is the case today, several photos.)

We don’t seem to get a lot of fog here, so I was super surprised the other morning when I looked out and saw this.

I wouldn’t want fog every day, but my goodness, it really is beautiful in its own way.

We get plenty of fog out here in Northern California north of SF. It's beautiful. Even sound carries differently in the fog.

It was the bane of my existence as a kid, because my artificially straightened naturally curly hair would kink up like a spring the minute I stepped outside in the morning.

Now I love it because it's frugal and beautiful (and I've given up and wear my hair curly!). During the summer, fog means cooler days--our natural air conditioning keeps our house cool so we don't need to run fans (we don't even have AC!). I am always so happy to see the fog after a run of hot, clear days.

During the fall and winter it can make for some cold, gloomy days. But that's a good excuse for a fire in the fireplace and a cup of hot tea. Beats shoveling snow!

Yeah, we had about 2 straight weeks of constant fog here in Seattle. It was terrible. :( I'm glad you can find beauty in your rare fog!

We get fog on occasion but are more likely to get low cloud and the castle out the window disappears.

I love fog. Very atmospheric. I lived in London for several years and I miss London's pea soup fogs. Lovely photos, every one of them, although the first may be my favorite. No, I really love them all.

I like fog. Reminds me of my favourite outdoor activity. Skiing!
