First, thank you for all of your kind comments on yesterday’s post…they’ve been so encouraging to me, and I’m grateful. My readers rock.
Thank you also for your feedback about the sort of posts you like (if you missed adding your 2 cents yesterday, feel free to add it to this post if you’d like!) A couple of things kept popping up in the comments. First, lot of you said that you like the “peek into my life” kind of posts, which I wasn’t aware of. This works out nicely because I actually really love writing that sort of post…so, I’m going to try to do more of those. And I think we’ll all be happier for it!
On that same note, if you want more of that kind of thing, you might enjoy following me on Twitter or Facebook, as I post snippets of real life there on a regular basis. Also, you may want to subscribe to my 365 blog, where I post a single photo each day (to subscribe, just enter your email address into the box on the right side of the 365 page). Most of the photos I post there are of simple, everyday things, so they often function as a peek into my life.
(Ok, I’m done with the self-promoting now.)
Lots of you said you appreciate the baking posts, so I’ll keep that feature going as long as I have material to do so. Also, several of you reminded me that you like to see posts about our Goodwill finds. I’ve been awfully lax about sharing those with you, so I’ll try to improve in that arena.
And a number of you requested more how-to posts. The frequency of those all depends on how frequently I’m engaging in activities that make good how-to posts, so those will probably keep popping up randomly here and there (though several are in the works right now, since it’s summer and I have more time to actually do projects!).
This blog exists mainly to serve its readers, so I’m always open to feedback about what you’d like more of/less of, so feel free to email me or leave a comment with your thoughts anytime. And I’ll put up another “Tell me what you want!” post every six months or so.

Regarding the Ebates/Haiti project I posted about on Tuesday, I’m happy to say that a lot of you signed up and are now appearing in my account as referrals (I haven’t counted today, but I know there are at least 50 of you there. Yay!). However, Ebates has to confirm that you’ve made a $20 purchase before you count towards the $500 reward they’ll give me (which I’ll give to Living Water) and that takes a few days. So, even if you’ve already made your $20 purchase, it’s just not showing up as confirmed yet.
That makes this sort of a non-update, but I’m very excited because I think that after your confirmations roll in, we’ll have enough of you to get the $500 for Living Water and maybe even enough to get the $1000, which would be totally awesome.
If you’ve signed up but haven’t made your purchase yet (maybe you’d like to do some early Christmas shopping?), make sure you do so before August 10th, as that’s the deadline for purchases.
And if you haven’t signed up yet, hop on over to Ebates, sign up (using the link here will automatically let Ebates know I sent you over), and make a purchase through one of the Ebates stores.
Thank you so much! I’m very excited at the prospect of being able to send a significant amount of money to help Haitians get clean drinking water.

Hey Kirsten,
Although you don’t seem overly upset about the Haitian comment thing, I’m hazarding a guess that you probably are. I’d like to say “chin-up girl!”. I, for one, look forward to your blog and e-mails each day more so than any other site I have ever visited on the web. You are living a life that I have so wanted to live and I am grateful that you are brave enough to allow so many strangers to scrutinize your thoughts and actions. Thank-you for sharing your life with us. God Bless.
P.S. Interestingly enough, that irate commenter didn’t bother to tell us what she did for a living in her “respectable” job.
