Kristin! You should totally use the search feature or the categories in the future. That’s how I locate old posts when I want to link to them. The search box is in the very right sidebar and so are the categories. I have a Christmas category, and I’m pretty sure I put the gift bag post into that category (although I must admit that early in my blogging days I wasn’t quite so good at categorizing things!).

I thought I was going to have to go through your blog for an hour to find that post about using fabric to make gift bags; I used it in a blog post (with a link to you of course!) because it’s brilliant. This was a great read. Funny enough I was decorating the tree with the kids today and thinking… I wonder how Kristen and the kids handle gifting within the family. Now I have an answer.

We decided against doing Santa Shop at school this year. I believe they can get better quality things for each other and us (the parents) at our local stores. I would much rather give them a budget and know they aren’t buying something cheap that will end up in the landfill before Jan. is over.

This post was a fun read! It was nice to hear how someone else does Christmas. I especially like the idea of starting to save for Christmas in January – I think I’ll have to try that next year!

I have three ladies who I go out to breakfast with each week. We exchange gifts each year. They normally give Christmas ornaments, but I have to be different each year. In the past, I have made caramel popcorn mix, quick breads, etc. This year, I am making them each a chicken pot pie that they can throw into the freezer. I think they will appreciate this on a night when they just don’t want to cook. At least I hope they will appreciate it!

Kristen ~ I did it! Yesterday I spent the afternoon and evening baking and made homemade white sandwich bread for 3 different people. My kids and I had so much fun. They couldnt wait to take it to their teachers today. Thanks for teaching, encouraging, and giving great ideas.
