I agree wtih Jonathan’s comment. Tripods usually are the way to go at night. The longer exposures can do wonders for how the color and shape of the lights come out! I’m confident you’ll do it

Night pictures will require a tripod. You might have to play with longer exposures as well. The outcome can be awesome.

Theresa and Erika, I don’t think I’ve ever tried taking pictures of our house at night. I’ll give it a try, and if I have any success, I’ll let you know what I did. lol

I know for taking pics of our Christmas tree at night, I’ve used a tripod before, and that helps a lot.

I second the request for tips on how to take pictures of christmas lights without them getting all blurry. Though, it may just be because I don’t have a very expensive camera…

Happy faced children delighting in the simple things of life…what joy! How about some pictures of your house all lit up at night as well as some tips on photos of how to do that. My pictures of the tree or house always turn out dark, fuzzy (need light for exposure, I do understand the mechanics of photography), or just ‘off’. Thanks for sharing joy!
