There are two reasons that I love them(and two ways they help me save money!).
1. They are really, really, really warm! I don’t own a wool sweater, but I’d be surprised if it kept me any warmer than my zip-up fleece pullover. I especially love the kind that I’m wearing in the picture, since they can be zipped up into a turtle-neck-like state. By wearing a fleece over my long-sleeved shirts(and by having my children do the same), we can keep the heat lower than we could otherwise. Fleece pjs, which all my kids own, have the same effect. Zoe sometimes sleeps with a fleece pullover on top of her fleece pjs(she is the only one who hasn’t figured out how to sleep UNDER a blanket/comforter yet!).
2. They air-dry in no time flat. They hardly even feel wet when they come out of the washer, and any hint of dampness disappears very quickly on the drying rack. It’s a lot harder to air-dry clothes in the wintertime, and so I am grateful for any pieces of clothing that dry quickly. Several of my children own fleece pants, which are really wonderful…they air dry about 100 times faster than jeans do. This saves me money because it helps me to hang in there with the air-drying thing even in the winter, when I don’t have the help of sunshine and my clothesline.
Fleece sweatshirts and pullovers can often be obtained VERY cheaply in January or February when stores are getting rid of every last bit of clothing that can be worn in cold weather. The black one in the photo was on clearance at Old Navy last year, and I think I paid about $2 for it. Now that I think about it, all of the fleeces in the picture were purchased on clearance…three from Old Navy, and one from Sears. Have I mentioned that I adore clearances?? 😉

This showed up w your feed today about boot socks made from rep-purposed sweaters. I was like look how little the girls are. I looked closer at the date and laughed. I was very pregnant (past due) w my daughter. Had her four days later. :) Time sure flies.

I do not wear heavy sweaters, except for a simple button down light weight type. I love love love fleece..did I mention I love fleece??? Simple and easy to take care of, they warm me up and usually I just wear a tank underneath and I am comfy. On dress down Fridays at work, in the colder weather, I wear a simple black fleece with my pencil skirt and boots. With the right jewelry, I call it corporate chic. : )

I live in fleece during the winter too! Last Christmas I made fleece pajama pants for all of the boys and men on my list and they were a hit! Put flannel sheets on the bed, add fleece jammies and I'm ready to hibernate until Spring.
I saw fleece sheets in the store. I'm considering getting a set for winter to switch out with the flannel sheets.

I find that if the temperature gets down to 60 or below, I really need to wear an extra layer of pants. I usually wear Champion polyester workout pants under my regular pants from november to about april (I live in new england) because, even if you are warm on top, if your legs are cold you will feel uncomfortable. So I wear looser pants in winter and wear a light sweatpant, tights, or other workout pants under them. I also find that loose layers are better than tight layers for some reason.
